Always tour with a reliable partner
You don't go on regular ski tours alone, let alone ski mountaineering expeditions. You need a reliable partner, but it doesn't hurt to have reliable gear as well. The Men's Rab Sharp Edge Jacket helps you to the top, so you can focus your attention on that perfect line down. Durable Pertex delivers a triple whammy of outdoor protection: waterproof against the snow falling and the powder flying, windproof against that wind tip-tapping on your hood, and breathable for all the effort you're exerting. When you get to the top of your chosen line, stuff your skins into your chest pockets and attach your powder skirt. Thanks to stretch in the shell, you have all the mobility you need to pole plant your way through the untouched white dreamy pow.

Couldn't be more psyched on this jacket. I'm the kinda guy that likes to go fast and lite and normally ditch the standard ski jacket on my tours. This one changed that - now I don't look like a dweeb in a softshell all the time and I have the confidence of a strong 3-layer shell during my ski outings.
What I love most:
-The hood. Probably one of my favorite hoods of all time (I guess I have a list). This hood is super maneuverable from the wire rim to the synch I can feel comfortable hatless, with a hat, or a helmet. I also have long hair and wear a ponytail and it feels great with the hair up!
-Escape artist sleeves! Wow, talk about venting. I love the amount of airflow you get when you unzip these sleeves on the way up. My wife loves when I unzip them and tuck them behind my back like a vest - I really look awesome! ...haha
-removable powder skirt...yes, some days I need that!
-Big ass velcro cuffs, thank you, ski gloves are a thing!
-Mesh inside pockets. I ski with my skins in my jacket so they stay warm and work longer. The mesh pockets are perfect size for even my biggest skins (BD Ultralite 179cm 100mm wide).
So I am only 5'9" and 145 but I got a Large. I like a baggier fit with my jacket because I am primarily a skier and not as much of an alpine climber desiring the slimmer fit. I initially wore a Medium but after about three days in it I switched to the Large and am much happier.
