I am a long time Rab fan. I beat the fluff out of my previous Rab Microlight Alpine. I think I should have bought another one of those..
This Jacket is of good quality there are few kinks however, that make it not a five star jacket in myopinion.
Let me start with the good first. I like the fit. I am 5.11 , 190lb and got the large. The Mimosa color on the pic is light blue but the jacket is darker blue, which I liked. It was the only color available .... so whatever that.
The face fabric seems durable. It is not heavy for what it's meant to be. I'd totally pack it on tours when weather is in single digits or teens. You can supplement it with a light weight synthetic puff for cold weather as it is not tight.
I like the lofty hood and the metal brim.
The bad:
First thing first! It is noisy. If you want to be in a ninja school and wear this puffy, then this is not for you! It sounds like you are wearing your grandma's couch wrap.
No Outside chest pocket
Side zippered pockets are with large zips hoever the pockets are not deep at all. They end up 1/2 inch after the zip ends. There is more room for pockets further down the jacket, but the designer decided to cut them short. Idk why.
Same goes for the lonely inside pocket.
And a last thing on pockets. I swear I don't have thing for pockets!
It would have been nice to have a stuff it mesh pocket inside.
Ok the last thing on pockets. Why not make it stuff in it's own pocket rather than a separate sack?
Last but not least, didn't buy it on backcountry because I prefer more respectful retailers. But I do like browsing here and reading the reviews then I go to some not trademarked place ...
Ivo M. You are the type of customer that makes retailer refund and return policies 76 trillion pages long. Awful.
