Profile DesignSvet Zero Carbon Basebar

Give your bike wings.

Developing a set of base bars that offer the least possible amount of wind resistance while maintaining a UCI-legal 3:1 ratio is a goal that requires a good deal of fine-tuning. Profile Design took its time a few years ago with the Svet Zero Carbon Basebar, and has since not felt compelled to change its sleek, customizable design that's well suited for use in UCI-sanctioned races and triathlons.

Multi-directional carbon fiber construction keeps the weight of these base bars low, at between 200g and 210g, depending on which size you end up with. It also serves to help absorb road vibrations while providing plenty of stiffness for racing. By designing the Svet Zero with a true zero drop, Profile Design ensures you'll stay in a low, aerodynamic position even while riding out of the saddle, an objective that's helped further by the overall forward orientation of the bars. The flat, wing-shaped tops of the bars were included to slice through wind, but also provide a comfortable place to rest your palms when you're recovering or climbing. Profile Design paid attention to comfort when creating the straight brake extensions as well, delivering another relatively natural position to ride in — a nice option when you're looking at investing in aggressive aerobars.

If you're worried about what cables would do to a clean-looking set of base bars like these, set your mind at ease with the knowledge that they come pre-slotted and ready to be used with Di2 components. The Svet Zero is compatible with 31.8mm handlebars, and it works with a variety of extension options.
