Ideal for car camping or tailgating, this little stove gets the job done. It's an easy piece to set up, and it works great so far.

Works great

The Primus Grill works very well. We took it car camping and it kept a large group satisfied for a quick and easy breakfast.

    Last day

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

perfect for the last day cook out on your local mountain, your weekly car camping trip to "the lake", Tailgating, or living in a tiny home. The wind screens worked great, and I like the cook top it's easy to clean and heats up quick.

    Camp Cooking Made Easy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing is fantastic! Lights up the first time. Folds down easily, takes I plan on using this for many years. Goes great with an ALPS table. I would recommend this to my worst enemy-its that good.

    Backcountry Grillin'

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I haven't had any issues with this stove at all. It stays in the back of my Tacoma in case there is a spontaneous adventure that needs some fine dining. There was only one day I had any issue at all with the simmer and that was because there was 35+ mph wind gusts that kept blowing the flames out when I would turn the burners down to a simmer. No issues while the flames were turned up medium or high. To me, this isn't an issue in the product, you can't really expect a flame to continue to burn in that strong of winds. The grill steps up the dinner game while out on adventures and I would recommend this to anyone.

    Backcountry Grillin'

    camp cooking at its finest

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got this for a buddy of mine and this is what he had to say. Primus BBQ does the trick... cooks well, light weight and easy to use . Makes cooking up meals while camping super easy. Recommend to the future buyers.

    Worst Camp Stove Ever

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used Coleman gas and propane stoves and backpaking butane stove, and Primus Profile is the worst stove I've ever used. I took the Primus Profile on a month long camping trip so I had plenty of time to experience how bad it is.

This stove does one thing well. It boils water. Other than that, it's very bad.
    1. The burner grate become warped after using the stove for the first time. As a result, pans rock around on the grate rather than sitting stable. It's so bad, I have to hold wide frying pans to get the oil in them to spread evenly.

    2. The valves for adjusting the flame are very strange and unreliable. For example, when I try to turn the flame lower, it goes lower, but then the flame comes back up where it was. I can eventually get it lower, but it requires several adjustments to get it to stay where I want it.

    3. The stove is terrible for simmering. In order to get it to simmer low enough to cook rice, I have to turn it so low the flame goes out, and then I have to re-light it with a stove lighter.

    4. The flame ignitor works about 50% of the time. As a result, I just use a stove lighter since it's a frustrating waste of time to try to get the ignitor to work. Also, the ignitor is extremely difficult to activate.

    5. The hose for connecting the gas cannister is too stiff. The hose is so stiff, that it makes it very difficult to get the gas bottle to stay where I want it.

    Solid Camp Stove

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I returned a Camp Chef stove and purchased this Primus to replace it. I'm impressed with the build quality of this stove. While some stoves are made out of flimsy metal that gets banged up a lot this thing is built like a tank. I also really like that it includes a hose instead of the more traditional metal tank adapter. Super pleased with this purchase!

    Great Stove Bonus Grill

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This camp stove is the best. It’s different than any other stove I’ve had. The burners puts out good consistent heat and the grill is big enough to really cook on. Also the grill comes out easily and was easy to clean. It is also more compact than other stoves I’ve had.

    Burning Man winds

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I took this to burning man and it cooked us many a meal for 8 days. love this little stove. Not something to go backpacking with, but as Jeff mentions below, this is a glamping stove.

    Let's Go Glamping

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Profile Duo is a great stove - I cook everything from hotdogs to bacon and eggs on this thing (for the bacon and eggs I just take the grill grate off and lay my skillet over the burner, so I can make coffee on the stove side).

It heats fast and relatively even. My only issue is that the grill side rarely lights with the sparker - I usually have to stick a lighter in there. That being said, the stove side lights with one click of the sparker every time.

Grill side adds versatility beyond grilling...

Solid stove. Like most camp stoves, the stove-top burner is pretty hot (slightly controllable at the low-end with a steady hand). The grill side burns at a lower rate since it covers more area (it is about twice the size of the stove top) - makes a great place to simmer foods. Hence, a great combo package for the gourmet - heats up fast on the stove-top and slower simmering on the grill side to allow the flavor meld together!

      Cool but the knob broke

This was an awesome grill until the knob broke off. I would recommend it to others as I think this was a defect.

Time to kick in the "Life Time Warranty". Knowing Primus/Brunton, shouldn't have any problems. Good to their word!!

        Car Camping in Yosemite

This stove worked flawlessly. The piezo ignition was really nice too.

          Great Stove

Great little stove for camping. Have only used it a few times but the quality seems very soild and it heats up very quick even on low heat. Highly recommend this stove!
