Stretch Zion Straight Pant

The Prana Men's Stretch Zion Straight Pant is as versatile as your favorite pair of blue jeans, but (probably) twice as stretchy. A straight fit gives these pants a modern, versatile aesthetic, while the supple four-way stretch material lets you hike, climb, and sight-see in comfort. To prevent you from getting too toasty while adventuring on warmer days, the pants feature a ventilated, gusseted crotch, and the UPF rating keeps your legs protected from the strong sun. So, stuff your passport and a snack into one of the secure pockets and head out of the door to catch a plane to some far-off land. Don't panic when you get there and realize you've forgotten your belt, though, because the low-profile adjustable waist will keep your pants up while you sample the local sights.

  • Adaptable pant for jet-setting, big-walling, or trail-finding
  • Water-resistant treatment repels moisture
  • Supple 4-way stretch grants unprohibited movement
  • High UPF rating keeps legs protected from the sun
  • Gusseted inseam sports ventilation for temperature regulation
  • Adjustable waist is low-profile to keep pants up comfortably
  • An array of secure pockets for essentials like passport and keys
  • Straight fit lends a polished aesthetic

I never want to wear any other pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Size Bought: 32x30

These pants are what I've been looking for for years, a slim-fit, stretchy pant that feels just at home on a rock wall as they do in the office. The tapered leg and color are amazing and they are the most water resistant pants I have ever worn. If you think the Brions look and feel like bell bottoms (which they do on me) try these on and never look back. Now I just want a pair in navy blue.

Stretchy Pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30/34

Most pants when working in them can get a little tight. These ones stay loose and stretchy when you need to make an extra comfort. Tested the regular ones and the straight ones. Both pairs are very adequate and handle the extra bends. The material feels very comfortable on the skin. Great pair of pants (:

The only pant I was ever looking for

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30/30

I use them for climbing. I boulder and I sport climb. They're amazing. Wouldn't change anything about them. Best pant for the price, period. Yes, they're not "straight" pants. They're clearly "slim" fit pants. But that's what I wanted. So if you want slim fit pants too, then get these. If you want a bit of a wider fit through the leg, get the regular zions (not the straights).

Great Look and Comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34/32

I purchased these a couple months ago in preparation for a hiking trip in Colorado this Summer. I usually hike in shorts but plan on hiker a couple of the 14ers, and thought I might need something a little warmer. Spring is a little slow arriving in the Chicago area this year so I have had the opportunity to wear these a few times. hiking in the woods around town with the dog. They are very comfortable, breath very well and dry quickly. I really appreciate the ability to roll the cuffs with the snaps on the bottom of the legs. The waist does have the ability to adjust slightly.
I have also worn these casually to work a few times.
I liked the Zion Straight Stretch pants so much, that I also purchased them in s second color.
Looking forward to the mountains this Summer.

Most Excellent Lightweight Pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32 x 34

I'm relatively thin guy with a little buddha belly and long legs. I bought these to use in warmer temperatures. Compared to the regular stretch zion pant, the main difference is the tapered legs at the bottom. The waist may be slighter smaller. I would size up if you're in between sizes as the waist has an adjustable strap. Unless you are a body builder or hard core biker with monster thighs, these pants should work for you. The bronzed color is very nice and may be slighter darker than seen through a monitor. A special shout out to my gear head William Bowen for helping me find these pants.

Thank you for the great feedback, Brock!
I'm glad you are happy with the new pants. I love mine, too. Wear them everyday!

Skinny Stretch Zion

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

This is a nice different version of the stretch zion pant, with the main part being that it is skinnier and straight leg. I was expecting the legs to be skinny but was surprised by how tight they actually are. The tightness is not bad since they stretch and breathe exceptionally, but I prefer my pants a bit looser in that area. A great addition to the stretch zion family, and perfect if you are looking for a straighter tighter fit then the standard stretch zion.

Fit is Weird, Stretch is Nice

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

This "straight" pant is surprisingly skinny, especially considering most pants tend to fit me rather large. The stretchiness is great for bouldering and rope climbing, and the softness of the waist section allows the pant to interface with a harness better than many other options out there. If Prana could dial in the fit of the legs and crotch section, these would be some of the best active stretch pants on the market.

Not straight fit and odd sizing

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 34x34

Main issues are:

-Not straight fit, more like slim\skinny
-Waist is too big, 34x34 fits like 36x34 in waist
-Inseam too short

To expand a bit. First issue is they aren't straight fit, more like slim or even skinny. I normally wear Levis 511 slim jean in 34x34 and would say these pants are probably slimmer then that. This in itself is not that big of a deal, except the waist is 2 sizes too big just like the regular Prana Zion. So to fit in the waist, I would need to order 32x34, except it would be way too tight everywhere else. Also these pants are shorter than my Levis 511 34x34, probably more like 33 inseam.

I also ordered 3 different colors in 34x34 and all 3 had different waist\thigh sizes, worse than Levis.

Great pants

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32-30

Overall great pants and super comfortable. Definitely slim through the thought, but the stretch helps quite a bit. Glad these are tapered better than the Brion, Zion or Zioneer versions which looked like bell bottoms. Docked a star as Prana should market these as “Slim” not “Straight” because it is very misleading to customers. The other versions I’d categorize as straight or relaxed fit.

Perfect form fit for athletic guy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32x30

The stretch Zion material is durable and cozy - perfect for hiking and colder weather climbing (fall/spring). Own 2
pairs each of the regular fit stretch Zion and the brion. The straight fit Zion are ever so slightly roomier than the Brion, but with features of the stretch Zion - namely cargo pocket, reinforced fabric at ankle, and built in belt (which is crucial but absent from the Brion) - and without the sloppy fit of the regular stretch Zion. Best prana pants ever. Mainly use for climbing. Athletic, wrestler build with sprinters thighs - 5’9” 180 lbs, 31 x 30 in most jeans and the 32x30 is perfect.

Great pant! Fit is too slim.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30 x 32

The Prana Stretch Zion has been my go to climbing pant for many years. My first pair outlived a climbing harness and a bouldering pad. In fact, the only reason I dont have those anymore is because I lost a few inches off my waist and needed to size down. I am still climbing in my second pair that I have had over a year now, with no noticeable wear or fade in color (black). I climb 4 to 5 times a week, inside and outside. I boulder and sport climb. I decided to pick up a pair of the latest and greatest in the straight fit. Ive been going hard to the paint in them going on about a month now and as per my previous experiences, they have not disappointed. The Prana Stretch Zion is unmatched in durability and functionality. The vented gusseted crotch and nylon stretch fabric is perfection for the avid climber. So why only 4 stars? The straight fit fits more like a skinny jean in my opinion. The amount of stretch is pretty unreal, given the slimmer fit. I have been able to climb in them without any issues. That being said I have a lean muscular build, so the regular fit is my preference over the straight fit. My only real criticism for Prana is that the straight fit should be called a slim fit.

Great pant! Fit is too slim.

Have to return mostly due to thighs

  • Size Bought: 32-34

My son is 6'3", about 190 lbs, and pretty muscular. I ordered the 32-34, and general size was pretty good though bordering on too form-fitting. He had hoped to wear these for climbing and backpacking, but even though the pants are nicely stretchy, the thighs are just too tight. He has the same problem with the regular (non-straight) Zions as far as the thighs are concerned, and he really liked the closer cut of the lower legs on these straight Zions than the non-straight Zions. Will have to keep looking. Pass-through pocket is nice!

Weird fit, short inseam

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 34x32

I have a couple other pairs of slim fit Prana pants that I love, so I was excited to see that a slimmer version of the Stretch Zions were available. Ordered a size up from my usual size due to comments that these pants run a little small. Waist was fine and they were a little tight in the thigh, but the real deal breaker was that inseam was a full 2 inches shorter than my other Prana pants of the same length. Annoyed that I had to pay return shipping on a faulty product.

I love these pants!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30 x 30

I really love the fit of these pants; I have short legs and the 30 length fit me perfectly. I appreciate the gusseted crotch and little air vents as well. I bought 3 pairs of these. Since that time I have camped in them, climbed outdoors in them, gone on a few hikes, and went mountain biking. I appreciate that they are not too baggy, lightweight, and stretchy. I've also worn them to work (I'm a teacher) and I move around my class a ton, so they have been good there too. My only gripe is that they don't come in that chocolate color the brion pant comes in.

runs very small; awful return policy

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

These pants are not for the athletic man; they are for the skinny dude that doesn't use his legs other then walking across the room to the fridge to grab another adult beverage. I was very disappointed in the $6.99 cost of a return which they claim to guarantee satisfaction, Charging $6.99 to return an item is certainly not a guarantee.

While I take offense to the skinny dude who does do anything comment as I am extremely active I will say that based on your height/weight you sound like a stocky dude; if you like the material/gusset/pocket location as I do then I would suggest trying out the non-straight version of these pants. I dislike those other ones because I don't have super thick thighs but they may be the ticket for you.

I'm with Robert on this one; I'm a cyclist, skier, runner, and climber and find these pants to be perfect. If I had thunder thighs (like one of my sprinter friends) then these would be too tight, but at 5'11" 165lbs the 31x32 fits beautifully.

These Pranas fit great

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32x30

I love my Prana Zion shorts but couldn't get behind the Zion pants. They are weirdly snug through the thigh and ridiculously loose in the calf. Maybe I got a weird pair, or maybe I have a weird body type, but I have no idea how they could be so popular.

These on the other hand...perfect. Well cut through the thigh and taper over the calf. Definitely mobile enough to climb in, but wouldn't be an embarrassment to wear in town. I'm happy I stumbled across these because I had given up on Prana long pants.

Great slim fit pant!

I love Zion stretch. I saw these were a slimmer fit so thought I'd give them a try. Now, I'm considered a skinny guy. I didn't realize I had some thighs until I tried these on. I guess all those lunges in yoga are having an affect!
I'm 6'2, 175lb. Lately, I don't have any trouble with 32 in. waist. The waist fit great. The lower thighs were a bit too snug and I don't think they would have stretched enough for comfort. These are awesome pants if you're looking for a skinny fit. I'm gonna stick to the regular prAna Zion stretch pants.
