Low rise, small pockets & tight in thigh

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 6

The only good thing about these pants is the zip pocket in front for you phone.

Hi Angela! Thanks for taking the time to review. I am sorry to hear those weren't a great fit for you. I'd be happy to help in setting up a return and helping you find something more suitable!

bad pockets

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

The front pockets stick out in a bad way and are way too short - nothing will stay in them. Why can't we make bigger pockets that actually hold things. So sad - LOVE the mustard yellow color. Wanted to love them.

Perfect!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Size Bought: 0

These fit perfectly! Love the smoky blue color too. Stretchy, light weight.... gonna be a perfect travel, hike and everything pant!

Wanted to love but too small

  • Fit: Runs small

Not a fan of the fit or color(slate green). I ordered a tall size in my normal size but was too tight.

Very happy buyer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 6

This is my first pair of Prana Halle pants and definitely won’t be the last. I’ve spent so much money looking for the right pair of pants and I finally found one !!! I love the material and the fit is very comfortable. I can move around with ease. I’ve been thinking about these pair of pants for awhile now and I’m glad I bought a pair and I’m actually gonna probably try all the colors .

Low rise

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 2

I just got these, so I haven't had a chance to wear them much yet, but I just wanted to point out that they are definitely low rise pants, not mid-rise as advertised. Other than that, they fit great. I just hope the low waistband doesn't drive me nuts... 😒

My Everything Pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 6 Tall

I wear them to work, hiking, climbing, or anywhere! They clean really well and are super durable. I love the straight leg because it gives a more slimming look than the original.

Watch out for sizing

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 8 regular

I bought this for my wife and the 8 regulars were not tall enough, they stopped short right above her ankles. Small pockets but good quality hiking pants and nice color!

Third Pair

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8

I love Halle pants so much, I own three pair.
Yes, the pockets are minuscule and you can’t put anything in them.
I’ve crawled and scooted over rocks and through brambles, tossed them in the washer and wired them to work the next day. They are comfortable and look great!

Tiny pockets

Why do the men who run clothing manufacturing businesses make pants that effectively have no pockets for women? The pants have such tiny pockets that anything you put in them will fall out, including your keys. I am never buying anything made by PrAna again and I am never shopping at Backcountry again. There should have been a statement about the tiny pockets so women who keep their wallets and cell phones in their pockets would know not to buy it. The only way to find out about this is to pay for shipping and see it for yourself.

Not quite straight leg on skinny calves

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 2

I love most Prana pants--I seriously live in the Meme pants, I don't think they will ever top that design, but since they seem to be discontinuing that style I thought it was about time I try the Halle straight pants people rave about. These had a nice flattering fit in the waist/booty/hip region. The material is the same hiking pant material I've become used to with Prana's Meme pant. Unfortunately, these weren't quite a flattering straight leg on me, which may have a lot to do with my thigh to calf ratio -- I definitely have slimmer calves and ankles which works perfectly with the taper of the Meme, but with these "straight" leg pants it ends up looking like I'm wearing flares which is waaaay too middle school for me right now. So unfortunately I had to return them.

    My favorite pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 00 Reg

These are my go to pants for the outdoors.

If you're already a fan of the bootcut and are switching over, I would recommend buying one inseam up. I own the short inseam in the bootcut, but I bought the regular inseam in the straight version.

    [Cons:]
they do run hot in the summer, especially if you are in the desert (e.g., Utah) or the humid East Coast; wish the front pockets had zippers, but I've never had issues with anything falling out of them

    [Pros:] they. are. so. cute. I feel so great about my body wearing these. Form fitting (sooo hard to find in my size), but functional for the outdoors (hiking, climbing, kayaking, backpacking, etc.); durable. Over 4+ years of owning/wearing and have yet to stain or rip them (although I did recently wear through the belt of one pair); drawstring belt; articulated knee. I've never felt restricted while making a move climbing in these;
capri option; color selection! the "Earthbound" color is a beautiful yellow/brown mustard-y color

    perfect

very comfortable and breathable and clean easily

      Perfection! 5’9 150 6 tall

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 6 tall

I love love love the Halle pants. I have a ton of the boot cut. I have a messy, strenuous job and I work with a bunch of men. These pants allow me to move with out being revealing, they clean up easy and it doesn’t matter what I get on them it always comes out. They breathe so I’m not a sweaty mess when working in 100+ temps. These straight legs are a perfect “updated” look for outside of work. Snowshoeing, skiing, climbing, dinner and drinks. They are perfect.

      Amazing

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

These are my wife’s favorite pants. She loves the stretch and comfort. Not only is it her go to for hiking but even to the grocery store and back. They are durable and are made for any life style you through at it.

      Ultimate climbing pants

      • Size Bought: 4

These pants are timeless. From climbing to hiking and backpacking, they will not disappoint. I agree with one of the comments below. these do run short.

      black fabric different?

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 2

I love the regular Halle pants. I got the straight ones for a more updated look. I got the black to be more dressy as I use the others for hiking or day to day. The fabric feels different to me; it's more coarse and stiff, less silky and less stretchy. I can "feel" the fabric of the black ones as friction against my legs, whereas the other colors that I own (thistle, olive, jasper and wedgewood) all felt like a higher thread count.
And the length is TOO SHORT! It is expected that you might want the straight to ride above your ankle as opposed to draping over the shoe in the flare, but 2 inches subtracted is too much! It would have been better to shift to 31 or even leave it at 32. & the tall is 36"! How many men or women need that length? It must be assumed that you will either roll or hem them. Not cool!
The only good thing is that the size is consistent between the regular and straight, although the straight is more contricting, but don't know if it's the cut or the difference in the fabric? My bad, I shouldn't have ordered 2 of them. Now I'm stuck as I don't want to waste the money on return shipping.

Looks like the talls are supposed to be 34. Interested in trying that length but afraid to get burned again. I definitely returned them because the 30 inch inseam looked like stupid capris....

I agree that the black fabric is different. That's been my experience. Also, the straight style is different in inseam than the regular Halle. I wear a short in the regular, but a regular in the straight style. Crazy!

Tall girls beware! These run short.

      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Regular

I am 5 11 and hiking pants have always been challenging. I love the original Halle pants, and the regular inseam hits just right without dragging on the ground. I was excited to try the straight leg version, but they were quite short. I noticed the inseam on the regular length was 30 in, not the 32in listed here. The inseam lengths on the Prana website are also different from the ones listed here.

Tall girls beware! These run short.

YES! I got burned on that also. I know that the straight pants should ride a little higher above your shoes rather than draping over, but the regular should have been left at 32, not 30 inches. & the tall is 36? I guess that they assume that you will just have to get them re-hemmed anyway.

Ya, I got the regular because that’s what I got in the regular Halle - but these run shorter. I had to scour the internet to find them in tall. Just be smarter than me, because I got on a roll and ordered more of the Halle and was like oh ya I need to get the talls - and those are 36 which is way more than I needed. 🤦🏻‍♀️

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
      Chest:
Place the tape measure under the arms and around the fullest part of your bust with arms raised slightly.
      Sleeve Length:
With arms slightly bent, measure from the center of your back neck, across your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to wrist bone.
      Waist:
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
      Hip:
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
      Inseam:
Grab your favorite pair of jeans/pants. Measure the inseam of these pants starting at the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg (round to the nearest 1/2 inch).
