Eagle Ray Pant

Heed the call of the campfire and set out for the trailheads in the Prana Eagle Ray Pant. For admirers of the stretch “Zion” fabric, you’ll be stoked to find it used here in the Eagle Ray. Treated with a water repellent coating, you’ll find the freedom to enjoy passing rain showers and early morning shoreline runs by the glacier lake. It’s quick-drying too in case of accidental spills. And the UPF 50+ rating helps you enjoy the sun without suffering from uncomfortable exposure while relaxing at the mountain tops.

  • Climb high and repel rain with original stretch zion fabric
  • DWR treatment holds of light rain showers
  • Quick drying fabric handles coffee spills at the campfire
  • Abrasion resistant design and articulating knee encourage hiking

Excellent pants!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32X32

I ordered a bunch of different pants from Backcountry and these were the best, so I ordered a couple more pairs. I’m 5’ 11” about 170lbs and ordered size 32X32, and these pants fit the best out of the half dozen pants I tried. I’m talking about the overall fit, not just waist or length. I found all the other hiking style pants I tried were too baggy. I even tried the very expensive Satu pants from Outdoor Vitals, I found them to be very baggy and I didn’t like the front pockets on those either, when I put my phone or wallet in the front pocket, they would bulge out the side. The fabric on these Prana pants is extremely comfortable and stretchy, and the front pockets don’t bulge out to the side when I put my phone and wallet in them.

I was always a little jealous that women’s clothing embraced super comfortable Yoga style pants but there were no similar options with that comfort level in men’s clothing... until now.

I used to wear Levi’s 511 slim stretch pants but the fabric doesn’t breath, those pants just hold moisture and sweat (especially in the groin area) which makes them a terrible choice for hiking. The Prana pants have a very breathable fabric. I haven’t had these pants for a very long time, so I’m not sure of the durability, but they look and feel like a high quality pant, so I suspect they will hold up well.

Seriously though, these pants are so comfortable! Highly recommend!

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Place the tape measure under the arms and around the fullest part of your chest, with arms raised slightly.
Measure around the natural waistline.
Grab your favorite pair of jeans/pants. Measure the inseam of these pants starting at the crotch seam to the bottom of the pant leg (round to the nearest 1/2 inch).
Sleeve Length:
With your hands on your hips, measure from the center of your back neck, across your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to the wrist bone.
