Prana Continuum Pants

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34x32

I love these pants. Fit to size and super durable material. Should have purchased another pair before they ran out of my size in the discounted color.

For more than just climbing

I work, hike, and lounge around in these pants. They look great and fit true to size.

Black is not my favorite, but...

These pants are. They are by far everything I want in a pair of pants when I go climbing and climbing is the game. Once you buy a pair it's game over, I'm not sure if you'll want to wear a different pair but not this guy!

Black is not my favorite, but...

Love these pants. What can I say? They are great for climbing, my favorite pants, wish I had a pair for each day of the week and a back up pair for each one of those. Durable, flexible, colorful and wonderful.

    Great Durable Pants

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got these for my boyfriend who needed some new climbing pants. They ended up not being stretchy enough for him but he loves them so much he's keeping them for everyday use. The material is really durable and high quality and the different colored pockets look really cool on. They can definitely be used for climbing if you're going to be putting some rough miles on them but they aren't the stretchiest pants!

    A winner!

I am definitely a jeans-type guy, but was looking for something different that wouldn't end up sitting in a drawer. These work well for me, and fit well- I wear 32inch waist and can't wear anything skinnier than relaxed fit jeans due to leg size, and these fit like that. The stretch makes them more comfortable than most jeans, and definitely feel like they should be durable. I'm a hiker, not a climber(and over 50), so I won't be testing them like some will- but all my life I tend to ruin my favorites right off the bat, and I've worn these on a couple hikes and such, and they don't get snagged easily so should hold up. Love the look, and now I don't have to look like a dirtbag biker every day- okay, that may take more than a pair of pants, but I will definitely be watching for another sale on Prana pants!

Love these pants. If I made bookoos of dollars at my day job I would have nothing but these pants in my pants drawer. The look, the fit, the adjustments, the thickness of the material let's you know that they're going last a long time. Really excited to grow old in these.

I'm no climber but these pants are great, fit is perfect and has a built in "belt" as well as elastic around the ankles if you want to go into manpri mode.

Convoluted question, sorry: I ordered a pair of 30 in the waste a while back but the inseam was huge, closer to a 32. The sizing chart indicates that a 28 waste would have a 30 inseam. Is that accurate?

That size chart is a general size chart for all Prana men's apparel. Unfortunately that size chart isn't 100% accurate for all models. I find the inseam in the xs and s to be closer to 32" in most prana pants, or at least the models that I have. I would guess your pants probably have a 31-31.5" inseam. If you ever need exact measurements let me know and I can get those measured for you.

Replace my jeans, ya I think so

Bought these for working in the yard, around the house, to see if they'd be a good alternative to my jeans. First off these are way more comfortable than my jeans. I love the waist adjustment in front, these are just a little big for me (I normally wear a 35 sometimes a 34). They also have great color choices. I immediately ordered another pair after wearing these and am considering buying a 3rd in the sale color. These will be great for hiking.

        new to me

        Mesh look inside pocket

In response to a Question in the comments.

        Mesh look inside pocket

        Quality I've grown to expect.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

I bought these as a hiking\climbing piece that would be a bit tougher than your average "technical" pants. I'm not a huge fan of feeling like i have plastic pants on. These stretch enough to keep up with any movement you throw at it without loosing shape over a 6 hour hike.
The pockets are offset just enough to clear any harness or hip belt that I have encountered so far as well. Over all I am pretty happy with these and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable pair of pants that can pull off any approach to outdoor shenanigans.

        wanted to like them...but

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

maybe i'm just vain, but what is up with the different color accents? not a fan, returned before using them but they seem like awesome pants (fit/feel)

Too bad that color is nowhere!!!

        Pleasantly Surprised

I am super stoked that and prAna hand-selected me to test out and review their gear. Reviews are important for making better purchasing decisions, so I hope this will benefit the community. Many thanks go out to them!

First off, my waist is 33 and my inseam is 31. Companies offer odd sizes in the waist area, but I can't figure out why they don't with the inseam? They make the consumer spend time and money for alterations. I can't find the length of the inseam in the product specs or in the pants itself, but I believe they're a 32. Even though the pants are a smidgen long, I actually like it because I only have a couple shoes where I step on the back of my pants - and for those I just use the internal cinches at the bottom of the leg.

When I first put the pants on, they fit and were comfortable. A rare feat since my athletic build has never allowed me to wear skinny or standard fits. The product description does not do these pants justice with descriptions like a "gusseted crotch" and "articulated knees" and "stretch pants". The pants deserve more credit because you can bend, kneel, crouch, or do (whatever you do) without that straightjacket or "I'm going to bust a seam" feeling.

Versatility is also important to me. Last week, I wore these pants to work in the morning and then took off to the mountains to hike and scout some rivers at low flows. Not often can you wear the same pants for both occasions in the same day. The product picture is pretty accurate with regards to color, but it only shows the front view. Most of the cool features (E.g. different color pockets, heels, belt loops, etc.) can only be seen from the back.

I used to be a Lululemon fan because of the quality material, design, and the clothes were down right comfortable. But they only design for city life (and yogis) and not the outdoor scene. Their morals and values are questionable for me too. This isn't the case with prAna.

        Pleasantly Surprised

Some other cool things I like about the pants:

        * The inside of the pockets have a smooth silky mesh that feels soft to the touch and won’t scratch a cell phone.

        * There is a Topo map design on the inside of the pants and if your fly is down, it reads “Born from the Expedition”

        * The back right loose-fitting pocket (my wallet side) has another secret pocket behind it that provides a zippered option.

        * I hate belts so I love the waist cinch system.

        A couple dislikes:

        - When you cinch the waist down, there is nothing you can do with the excess strap and it just hangs down oddly.

        - The stitching is incredible with these pants, except on the logo. They decided to stitch the middle of the logo instead of the sides. I can easily foresee me accidentally catching it on something and ripping it off.

UPDATE: Now that I have put them "through the wringer", they are still super comfortable and still love the look, but I'm starting to wonder if they will hold up with time. I notice some thread ends showing and have some very tiny wear marks. But so far so good

These pants seemed great until you mentioned the mesh pockets. I hate mesh pockets, I need my pockets to be durable and not have to worry about losing something essential when a hole eventually develops, or if small things like keys can poke through.

Still, these seem like really nice pants otherwise.. Are all the pockets made with mesh? And how durable does the mesh material seem to be?

        Hi Dan -

Not all the pockets have Mesh, just the front ones. I posted a picture above so you can have a look. There is one zippered pocket (back right) so that can hold stuff. But I agree, if a hole develops in the mesh, it's annoying (good point)
