Favorite pants ever

Seriously hope these are never discontinued. I was super excited when these came out, since I was a huge fan of the Meme pants which I've put through hell for years, but wanted something more stylish that could transition from work to trail. These totally hit the mark. I wear them to work (frequent kneeling on concrete, no holes/wear in the knees), travel, commuter biking, and long day hikes. Super lightweight, don't snag, don't stain. They are cute and plenty stretchy, although not enough for scrambling. I'm between sizes (always, it seems). If you're in the same boat, size up for a more practical (but still flattering) fit on the trail, but plan on having to wear a belt. Size down for a true skinny-jean fit with less movement. Be aware that like all Prana pants, they are slightly loose in the waist. For some reason my black pair starting pilling quickly, while the rest are fine as are my very old Memes. I'm 5'6" and the regular length is a little long and I have to cuff them, while the shorts are about a 7/8 length hitting above the ankle. I agree with another review that some colors are way off in sizing, while others are right on the mark. I have black, smoky blue, and ashy and they fit true to size like other Prana pants. Coal, thistle and moonrock all fit totally differently (and not like the Meme pants in the same colors). Total shame, and hopefully manufacturing has been solved since I ordered in 2019.

Best if you can try on to find size

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 4

Colors and sizes I bought
Batik- 4 & 6
Cargo green- 4
Earthbound- 6

Batik in the 6 was way too big. Earthbound in a 6 fit a almost perfect. Batik in 4 was almost perfect (waist is too big) while cargo green is tight in the waist but fit. That being said, the 4 was great for climbing and walking around all day, prana seems to run big in the waist for me so I pair a flexible belt and that fixes the problem.
TLDR: try on! I want more but don’t want to have to buy/try on/ send back more than the 3 pair I already have. I’ll wait until I can try them at a store

Best pants ever!! I get extra discount from here:

    Great Versatile Pant

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

These are great pants for outdoor activities, work or hanging out around town! They are a great fabric with some DWR coating. I love that I can wear them to do pretty much anything and they are so so comfortable! They are a tad big on me though, but I still love them.

    Great all around pant

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8

This is my second pair of these pants! I get compliments whether I wear them over to friends house, out for a hike or to work with a polo and boots at the horse clinic. They are stretchy enough to climb in, but still hold their shape. They do start to slide down some, but nothing a belt can’t fix!

    Great all around pant

    Very long in the leg

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

Purchased for my wife who overall liked the pant but noted they were way too long (by almost 5 inches). They could probably be hemmed but she wasn't interested in the added time and cost to hem.

    Stretchy and relatively normal sizing

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6

I think there must be some differences between batches of these from Prana. The ones I received had plenty of room in the ankle holes. They also fit relatively true-to-size. I wear 27/28 pants depending on the rise and these fit perfectly in a 6. The material is nice and stretchy and the length is perfect.

    Weird sizing, no stretch

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 2 REG

I got these in the same size I got the Halle Pants in - my Halle pants are typically nice and fitted after I wash them and then they loosen up after a few hours of wear. These pants were almost impossible to get on in the same size, and even more difficult to get off. For starters, the hole for your foot is TINY. I have average sized feet and it took a lot of wrangling to get my foot through there. Then the pants are extremely tight through the calves with absolutely zero stretch so I had to do the pants dance to get them on. Once they were on they were really cute, which made me sad because I knew they had to go back. The fabric is close to the same as the Halle pants, but it's a lot itchier when it's that close to your skin. Then while trying to get them off, that really sealed the deal for me that they were going back - I seriously thought I was going to have to cut them to get them back over my feet. I would try another size if I thought it would make a difference but I just don't think going up a size is going to fix the issues with these.

Fell in Love with the Material

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I love Prana, particularly these pants. They material is soft, comfortable, and it stretches. I like tight pants but not when they restrict my movement so these pants provide the best of both worlds.

    Fiance loves them

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Picked these up for my fiance and she loves them. They are super comfortable but still look great for casual wear. She is a teacher and mostly wears these to school while working, but the technical Stretch Zion fabric makes them great for hiking and climbing as well! They shed water, dry quickly, and the stretch fabric helps them move with you even with the skinny fit. If you like Prana's other Stretch Zion offerings you'll enjoy this pant as well. Fit's true to size.

    Prior reviews were right: SMALL

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Everything about these pants was small and I couldn't get my foot through the cuff on the bottom of the leg.

    Comfortable pant, runs small

I gave these to my girlfriend as a gift and she ended up returning them. She loved the feel of the pant and the stretch Zion fabric is great for climbing or hiking. She typically wears a size 0 in prana but these pants were very tight. I think she would have liked them if they were the right size.

    The all-around pants!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 6

I bought these for my girlfriend for a trip to Italy where we were expecting a bit of rain. She wanted something that looked nice but would dry fast. These pants were perfect! They held up well in light rain. They are not water proof, but they dry pretty fast.

    Awesome casual pant

I'm a 27" waist, 38" hip, and 31" inseam so I got a 6 and an 8. The waist is, unsurprisingly, a bit big on the 8. The 6 stretches slightly to fit my hips nicely. A bit too long - I roll the bottoms up about an inch so they don't sit slouchy.

These are my work, going out, and gym climbing pants. They haven't made it on an outdoor trip yet. Hold up really well taking all sorts of falls at the gym and show almost no wear after months of hard use. Magically have no permanent stains, despite how many things I've spilled on them. Green and black colors are dressy enough I can wear them to work with a nice top. Will be buying these again, probably in blue and brown.

Enough comfort and stretch to wear anywhere, but enough classic, clean lines to wear in the office. My wife loves these pants because she can be comfortable in the office, but still look professional enough to hang with the rest of them.

Nice but Stretch a good bit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 4

I do really like these pants. The zion material is super light and feels more technical than your average around-the-town pant. My big thing is that they stretched pretty easily after wearing for only a little bit. However, even with that, I would probably purchase them again! While I haven't worn them on warmer days, I feel like they would be a nice light summer pant! I usually wear a 4 or 6 and went with a 4 in this pant after reading the other reviews.

    Comfortable Day Pant

    • Size Bought: 4

I was a little hesitant when i first ordered the Prana Briann Pant because i am very particular about the jeans/pants i wear. However, I was pleasantly surprised with these and will be wearing these often this fall and winter. They are made from a similar Zion Stretch material as the Prana hiking pant and definitely feel like there is versatility to them. They are easy to move in, fit well, and haven't had any issues with them stretching too much after a day's wear. The one thing i would say is they are thinner than a normal denim pant, and you might be cold in these on an extra chilly day. Otherwise these pants are great and look amazing paired with boots & a sweater in the office. Last thing - Prana sizing is a little strange in my opinion. I normally wear a size 27 in most jeans, and ordered a size 4 in these pants where i would normally consider myself to be a size 6, so i would size down if you are unsure !

    So comfortable and versatile!!

These pants are amazing. I bought for hiking and travel and I’m so happy with them. They are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. I am really pleased with the fit- true to size. So lightweight and can withstand the elements. I bought the regular inseam but the short is better for my height

Great Style, I hope they hold up!

I'm 5'5", 135lb. Athletic legs and I took a 6 in these. For reference I usually get size 4 in most pants brands so I had to size up in these. I tried the 4 but it was too tight around my hips. The 6 fit great and I was able to get them over my thighs, hallelujah. I find that I have to size up in fitted pants due to my thighs pulling down the waist. I can squat bend and climb stairs in these without any waist-drag! Woohoo! The style is so unique, different from any other pants I have. I have worn once so not sure how they will hold up in the wash. I hope they don't have a thread unraveling issue like other reviewers. Fabric felt a bit rough when I first tried on.

Comfy versatile pants with sizing issues

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: 6

I love these pants and use them for every day wear and for climbing. They're really durable, even after a lot of brushing against rock outside. They're water-resistant, but definitely not water-proof. Since they have the scotch guarding, it's a bit stiffer when you first wear it, but will soften a little after a couple washes. As for stretchiness, they do have a bit of stretch (more than your average pair of jeans, but definitely don't expect leggings).
I usually wear between a size 4-6 pant/size Small in leggings. These pants fit really well and fitted on my thighs and calves without suffocating my legs, but the waist is a bit looser than I'd like. Since it fits well on my legs, my pants aren't going to fall off, but it's got a bit more fabric when you sit down (I'm choosing to wear a belt to avoid some of this). I have these in 3 colors (black, coal, and moonrock) and compared to the black and coal pants, the moonrock is noticeably smaller even at the same size 6. They fit a lot better in the waist than the coal and black, but since it's also a bit tighter in the legs, they're maybe a little too stiff in the knees to climb in. Regardless, I really recommend these pants, but I wish there were a drawstring like on the men's Zion pants; the sizing might not be very forgiving for every body type either.

    How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Place the tape measure under the arms and around the fullest part of your bust with arms raised slightly.
    Sleeve Length:
With arms slightly bent, measure from the center of your back neck, across your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to wrist bone.
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
Grab your favorite pair of jeans/pants. Measure the inseam of these pants starting at the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg (round to the nearest 1/2 inch).
