Axiom Jean

Despite the nine-to-five grind, you're still able to work a trip to the climbing gym in almost every day, and the Axiom pulls double duty between comfort in the office and mobility on the wall thanks to its versatile design. Crafted with Prana's stretch denim, a gusseted inseam, and a classic five-pocket design, these pants fit in around town and keep you unhindered when you're kicking up for a high heel hook. They feature a standard fit that is slightly more relaxed through the thighs and lower legs for added mobility without looking baggy.

  • Classic denim pants with a few climbing-friendly features
  • Stretch denim material is durable without hindering mobility
  • Inseam gusset allows legs to move freely
  • Standard fit is slightly roomy through the legs without being baggy

Great pants. Indigo bleeds like crazy...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30x32

I'm about to purchase another pair of these because the first are so darn comfortable. I love them and the fit is very nice. I like most of prana pants and the majority of my pants from them are 30in waist, with some requiring 31in. These jeans are definitely looser than the Bridger jean and are my favorite after those (the Denim version).

However, as others have stated, the indigo color has an insane amount of color bleed for at least 10-12 washes. I didn't realize this until I wore them on a trip and my hands and legs were very blue. This is obviously why they are on super sale, and if you understand that, they can be a great purchase. I plan on washing mine at least 10 times before wearing them. I'll just throw them in with the dark batch every time I wash clothes for the next month and they should be good after that. For me, this is worth getting them for half price, because I would never pay $90 for a pair of jeans.

People stop and stare

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32

These are pretty sturdy heavy duty jeans not thin at all. I think they will stand up on their own. They are still very comfortable make sure you wash them first or the dye will get on your shoes and you will be a sad boy.

Antique stone wash is legit.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This review is for the antique stone wash variant of these pants. I've purchased the indigo overdye in the past and wash disappointed in how many times I had to wash them to get them to stop bleeding (10+ washes using different methods, I even tried vinegar). Honestly, I almost didn't want to try another pair of these because of the bleeding problem with the IO version.
These are not the same! No bleeding issues whatsoever. They are super soft and have that relaxed fit I appreciate when I'm out in the mountains.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34

Love these! Great fit and style. Very comfortable. I'm 6'2" 220lbs and wear a 34. These are the best fitting jeans I own.

Best Jeans Ever!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 33x32

These jeans fit incredibly well. They are durable and look great. They have just enough stretch to make moving in them easy and comfortable. This is my second round of these jeans and I plan on buying another pair when they wear out.

Great Jean - Terrible Color

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is my second pair of these. My first pair were, and still are in spite of some sub-par patch jobs in my part, my second favorite pair of jeans. I'm 6' and normally wear a 36x32 and these fit fine, if a little bit shorter than most of my other jeans. I suspect the stretch aspect of these pulls them up my shins just a little bit. Speaking of the stretch - its just right. These feel like normal jeans except for when you need a little extra flexibility and its right there for you. The gusseted crotch is also nice. It is larger than on other jeans I have and allows for a nice amount of space without looking overly baggy.

Now onto the worst feature of these pants, which almost makes me regret getting them: the color (rinse wash) continues to rub off onto my hands/shirt after 12-15 washes. I've washed them in cold water, I've washed them in hot water, I've washed them inside out and outside in, I've dried them after washing, I've not dried them after washing. So far no solution. Its better than it was but it is still annoying. The other downside of these is that they aren't that heavy duty. I wore my other pair once a week or so for a year and one knee is ripped through and the other is well on it's way. I'm not wearing these in particularly challenging situations either; pretty much just in the shop or around the house. I'd expect a $90 pair of jeans to have held up a little better than a $40 pair of Levi's.

Overall? Don't pay full price for these. They're comfortable and good look/good fitting enough that I'd recommend getting a pair if you can get them on sale. But don't don't don't get one of the darker washes!

Perfect pants!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 35x34

I got these for my husband who has a hard time finding jeans that fit him because he has bigger thighs. He is 6'1 and 220lbs and is a powerlifter. These FIT! I got him the 35x34 and they are perfect! Actually has a little room in the thigh area, most jeans are super tight so these are great. The darker color is nice and can be dressed up or down! The denim fabric is very nice, his only complaint is that the bottoms are a little wide for his taste but they are awesome overall.

Best Jeans!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got these jeans for my boyfriend, who now owns several pairs. He said "As the description says these jeans are great for the office and the climbing gym. It is easy to get a quick session in during a lunch break and not have to change to head back to the office. I now have two pairs of Prana jeans and they are my go to everyday pants. I wish they were a little more durable, but I still get about a year of use of them. 6’2” and 150lbs I wear a 30x34."

Sturdy Jeans

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 28x30

These have a slightly more weight to them compared to other Prana jeans like the bridger and manchester. They have more stretch than a standard pair of jeans, but not as much as the bridgers - roughly half as much stretch. Overall they have a more roomy fit, particularly in the lower leg and feel like they will stand up to more abuse than the bridgers, which feel fairly thin.

Burly Denim!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32/30

Heavy weight, straight leg fit with elasticity. I’ve worn them to workout at the gym in “a pinch”, commuted on my bike and worn them to work on casual Friday. I’m a 5’7” , 150lb gym rat, cyclist, ski guy. 32/30 on the money.

My favorite Prana pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30 x 32

I have three pairs of these and will probably make it four soon. For me, they are the perfect combo of great fit, sturdy construction, and all day comfort. What's not to like?

Great jeans with a little more room

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34/32

These are great jeans and give you a little more room than slim fits from Prana. Def a great pant for activities.

Favorite Pair

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 28x30

These are the best jeans I've owned. Classic denim feel and look with stretch. These are perfect for climbing in or just wearing around. They hold true to Prana's sizing. Regular fit gives your legs room to move but doesn't look baggy. Love 'em!

Pretty Great Jeans

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 35x32

These are some pretty comfortable jeans. I am 6ft, 207lbs presently with medium sized legs, and usually run about a 34-35 waist and 33 length or so. These jeans run a little tighter in the waist band, but loose in the legs, and pretty long. I got the 36x34 and they were huge and over my toes almost. Returned for the 35x32 in both colors and they fit great. They have a nice, comfortable stretch, when combined with the looser legs, makes them a great casual jean. Style is mature and classic. The dark color does bleed and bleed. Headed the warnings: Hand soaked in a bucket 2-3x with detergent, then washed 3-4x on warm right out of the box, and that seems to have worked.

My son is 33 y/o, a PhD Biologist, and extremely difficult to buy jeans for. He was thrilled with this purchase as it was a gift for Christmas 2017. In the past I had ordered 30 inseam and usually too short. If I had ordered an inseam of 32 there were times they were too long and they seemed to hang below his shoes. He is 5' 11". He took the jeans after opening and rushed out to try them on. He came back in and to my amazement they were a "perfect" fit and they looked great on him. He said they were so comfortable. I couldn't be happier. These were an excellent buy! I am considering buying another pair now. for his birthday.

Great Fit

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 30x32

These jeans are great. The gusseted crotch combined with the stretch makes them feel like a fit between a pair of jeans and sweatpants.

*WARNING: I have a gray pair and a blue pair. The gray pair did not bleed at all when washed, however the blue bled the first 5 times I washed them. There is a little tag on the jeans that says it will bleed, so heed its warning. Hand wash them to get some of the dye out or you will end up with a stained blue washing machine which you will have to clean.

My favorite pants

I've owned quite a few pairs of these pants over the years and will continue to buy them. I like the traditional fit and the material is very high quality. I've noticed that the fit will vary a bit depending on the denim they use.

*The only reason I did not give these a five star review is because the blue dye bleeds, even after two washes my hands turn blue if I've had my hands in my pockets. I'm going to try RIT color fixative and see if that helps but assume after a couple more washes the bleeding will no longer be an issue.

    Stretchy, but with jeans

Wear these things everywhere. Climbing or the office. Doesn't matter. Looks good and feels good. The gusseted crotch is a bonus too for a great range of movement. No surprise that Prana makes another top notch product in the pants department.

      Great Pants

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are great pants. Very comfortable and they look good.

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Place the tape measure under the arms and around the fullest part of your chest, with arms raised slightly.
      Measure around the natural waistline.
Grab your favorite pair of jeans/pants. Measure the inseam of these pants starting at the crotch seam to the bottom of the pant leg (round to the nearest 1/2 inch).
      Sleeve Length:
With your hands on your hips, measure from the center of your back neck, across your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to the wrist bone.
