A jacket that works with you.

It's completely understandable why you wouldn't want to leave the comfort of your warm bed when it's cold and dreary out. But, unfortunately, that's not how paychecks are made, so switch your bed's wool blanket for the wool-lined Penfield Men's Kasson Hooded Mountain Parka and seize the workday. Just on the other side of the naturally soft interior lies the tough water-resisting shell, which blocks the howling winds that wait for you at bus stop just as well as it sheds afternoon raindrops. Features like the adjustable cuffs, interior waist cinch, and snap down storm help to trap in heat and ensure your comfort from work's front door to all the way back home.

  • A wool-lined coat with all of the comforts of home
  • DWR-coated shell helps to shed outside moisture
  • Breathable wool lining offers warmth and next-to-skin softness
  • Adjustable hood maintains proper fit with leather locks
  • Adjustable hem and cinched waist help to trap in heat
  • Hook-and-loop pockets add secure, hands-free storage

Awesome Mountain Town Style

  • Size Bought: Large

I love this jacket. Seems to me that calling it a parka may overestimate the warmth of this jacket. Rather than being a severe weather jacket (though I think it could do this just fine with a sweater or other mid layer) it's a great stand alone shoulder season piece. However, I do think it's far more capable than the picture that paints of this jacket as well. I have yet to have this jacket out in very severe weather, I don't doubt it could handle it.
The quality is definitely up to bar. Burly zippers, and a tough face fabric. I don't worry about how long this jacket will last. It's fairly heavy and very comfortable.
The style is great. I have the dark tan color and it's Carhartt work jacket meets vintage high end ski jacket.
I was nervous about the fit based on the photos above but I actually like the fit on this jacket a lot. There's enough room in this jacket that I could layer underneath if necessary but as a stand alone it still doesn't look boxy and awkward.
