Hey, it has to be done.
You feel a little slop in your pedals and know the truth in the pit of your stomach. Time to get the Pedros Bottom Bracket Socket and get to work on your bike. Whether your bottom bracket needs a healthy cleaning and greasing or needs to be replaced entirely, this ISIS-compatible Pedros Bottom Bracket Socket helps you get the job done. This burly socket works with ½-inch drivers and large crescent wrenches.
- Q & A
Use for your Race Face cinch chainrings
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
While this tool does do it's job for Shimano ISIS bottom brackets, I bought it to swap chainrings on my Race Face Cinch (direct mount chainring) crankset. I bought this one over the Park tool version because I can use it with a 1/2in driver, just like my Pedros cassette tool, whereas you need a crescent wrench with the Park version.
Required for Raceface chain ring swap
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Critical little tool if you want to open up your chain ring on the Raceface Next SL and clean it, swap it out, etc. I was getting some creakage out of that area on my Santa Cruz Tallboy and couldn't solve the problem until I was able to open up and clean out the crank set system with this tool.
If you still have a cartridge splined BB like the Shimano UN 54 or Octalink (or ISIS...but I have no idea why you'd still have that), this tool is necessary. It works. It's nice that it adapts to a 1/2" driver so you can use a ratchet or a big breaker bar for the times when the BB gets stuck. I don't use mine so much anymore because I don't really have any of those BBs, but I keep it around for when I need to work on my teammates' or friends' bikes.
will this work on a shamano bottom...
will this work on a shamano bottom bracket?
Yes, this will work with any Shimano ISIS 20-tooth splined bottom brackets.
