Streamlined windproof warmth.
When you're seeking warmth without bulk, reach for the Pearl Izumi Pro Pursuit Wind Thermal Long-Sleeve Jersey. It walks the line between jersey and jacket with its thermal warmth and wind-proof protection, but executes its performance with lightweight materials that fit smooth and aerodynamic for a cut that feels akin to your favorite summer-weight jersey.
Designers at Pearl Izumi panel their windproof Polartec Wind Pro fleece fabric around your whole upper body to provide sleek protection on the outside, and lofty warmth on the inside. The fleece fibers trap heat within their matrix, providing the perfect body heat insulation, all the while pulling away moisture so you don't end up feeling wet from perspiration. A full-length zipper with draft flap allows for ventilation, so you can regulate your core temperature when you're working hard on a long and strenuous climb.
The Pro Pursuit Wind Thermal Long Sleeve is designed, as the name would imply, to perform well in the wind, and thus was given a form-fitting and aerodynamic cut that won't flap around when things get breezy. The sleeves are tailored with the Pearl Izumi Speed Sleeve construction that contours to your arms and is ideal for holing you in your cycling position, and the back has a generous drop tail to add coverage should wheel-spray occur. For a second layer against wheel-spray on wet days, the rear pockets are treated with splash-proof softshell to keep your nutrition and tools dry as you pedal on. Since dreary and wet rides can get a bit grey, the jacket is decked out with large reflective Pearl Izumi logos that shine under headlights to keep you visible when the lighting is low.

- Q & A
Overly long sleeved
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Small
I hesitate to write a review because I returned this, but for those concerned about fit, I found the sleeve length, much, much longer than other brands for the same size (I wear a range - Assos, Castelli, Gore, Capo, Endura). I ordered a small, and returned it because the torso fit exact, but the sleeves were easily two inches too long. Because this product is not a stretch fabric, the issue was more evident. I did not order a smaller size because the torso would not fit. Note, I did like the fabric and design.
