Stashable wind and rain protection.
Toss the Pearl Izumi Men's MTB WRX Jacket in your pack before you rip up your local trails for the day. Its lightweight, packable design features a MTB Barrier shell and 2.5-layer charcoal membrane that protects you from passing showers and blustery winds when you're riding over cloud-draped peaks and ridgelines. The full-length internal draft flap seals out wind-driven rain and gusty winds from working their way inside the jacket. Armpit and hood venting actively regulate your body temperature when you're working up a sweat. Moreover, you'll find its vented hood fits comfortably over your favorite mountain bike helmet, should you need to hunker down in inclement weather.

They run small!
I wear Large for just about everything but I am returning this because Large felt like a tight medium. Getting an XL for the first time (or I could be getting fat but I'm pretty sure they run small)
Pearl on Par
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
I am very impressed with the WRX jacket. A medium fit me well with at 5 10 160 lbs. It had some extra length below my waist in front and back to help with coverage when moving around into different positions while mountain biking. There is a lot to like about this jacket. It is very flexible and mobile to help you stay loose while riding. Very lightweight and packable for a questionable adventure. There is enough room to wear some elbow pads underneath if desired. It is thin and lightweight and you can hardly tell you are wearing a rain and windproof jacket when moving around. Although thin, it is abrasion resistant and scuff/scratch proof in the woods. You could throw this jacket over multiple layers without a problem and without a baggy fit. The hood is one of the coolest features. It will fit right over a trail bike helmet and shrinks up tightly when not around your head without having to worry about it getting caught up. Strategically placed vents underneath the armpits and behind the hood provide room for heat to escape without letting in rainwater seep in. This is a fantastic jacket that is very lightweight, full of nice features, and will protect against wind and rain. Excellent!
Can the hood be secured? Our does it turn into a giant wind catch at high speed?
Hey Derek - I rode in Hood River this past weekend with a buddy who just got this jacket. Hood River is known for high winds (and the wind was howling a couple days) and he did not have an issue with the hood catching or flapping. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Cool Waterproof Jacket!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This thing seems to be designed specifically for a true mountain biker. Everything about it just makes sense for actual riding and being protected while i'm riding in the mountains where the weather is unpredictable. The hood fits over my helmet with a vent in back so air can blow through and not blow it off while shredding down the mountain. I use this jacket all the time, on and off the bike.
