Poorly fitting socks can ruin a ride — at first they are just distracting, and then they start causing painful hot spots. Pearl Izumi comes to the rescue with its Elite Socks, which combine a precise cut and advanced moisture-managing materials into a single design.
The socks' Elite Transfer yarn wicks moisture like crazy, meaning that your feet are able to regulate temperature without any moisture accumulation. That's important because clammy feet are not only uncomfortable, but lead to blistering, too. The Elite also contributes to comfort through an ultra-smooth toe design that prevents irritation. Additionally, fit around the insteps is enhanced by anatomic arch compression that effectively hugs your feet.
Ventilation is aided by mesh over the top of the foot, which also gives the sock a low-profile shape. The standard cuff height provides just the right amount of protection around the Achilles tendon.
The Pearl Izumi Elite Socks are available in eight colors and come in sizes Medium through X-Large.
- Q & A
Confortable and stylish
- Fit: True to size
I loved these socks. First I love the color which combines pretty well with the rest of my outfit and my bike, but above all these are pretty confortable for my mid-range bike rides during the summer.
Good but not great
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: Large
I have been a fan of PI products for 20+ years of riding and racing. Their socks typically run slightly on the large side. These, however, ran a little small resulting in a shoter cuff than I prefer. My favorites of all time are their more pricey P.RO. models.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I really like lighter weight socks and these fit the bill perfectly. highly recommended for summer cycling.
