ELITE Escape Barrier Vest

Cooler, shoulder season rides require a weather-resistant vest like the Pearl Izumi Elite Barrier Vest. Its breathable, weather-resistant material protects against howling winds, while the ventilation panels on the chest and back keep you from overheating during those intervals. It's extremely packable so it's easy to stow in the jersey pocket when conditions are unpredictable.

The Elite Barrier Vest is constructed with Pearl Izumi's breathable yet weather-resistant Elite Barrier polyester, which works to protect you from the elements without trapping heat. It wicks moisture to keep you dry while shielding you from blustery conditions and resisting rain. Additionally, the Direct Vent panels at the chest and back let heat escape to help regulate temperatures.

This vest was cut to Pearl Izumi's Form-Fit design, for a snug fit that allows for layering without excessive material to flap in the wind. The collar is tall up front and tapers towards the rear for an optimized fit on the bike that fights off gusts of wind, while the full-length zipper makes quick layering changes or dumping heat a snap. Reflective accents increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions, and the pocket on the rear ensures you don't sacrifice easy accessibility to your ride essentials.

Too tight

I usually wear a large in PI tops but for some reason ordered a Medium. Way too small, fits my 13 year old perfectly. Quality is nice though.

Great Vest

I am about six feet and weigh about 180 lbs. I ordered a size large, and it fits perfectly. It is form-fitting. My old PI Elite jackets and vests in large were too big.

Smaller than expected

I am 5' 8" and about 148 lbs with 38" chest measurement. I usually wear medium but this vest in medium was too tight. Could not wear it layered over another jersey. Fit and finish and color all looked great.

Mis-marked size?

    Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband for our bike and boat trip to Croatia next year. He normally wears a men's large but just to make sure it was roomy, I ordered an extra-large. Surprisingly, it was way too small and tight. Thinking maybe it was mis-marked? Beautifully made and detailed vest but must be returned.
