Earn your turns.

You have to work hard if you're going to find pristine powder stashes. Lucky for you, Patagonia made the Men's Untracked Pant for just the occasion. Gore-Tex gives this light, thin, three-layer shell reliable waterproof protection for the ride down, and it's breathable to keep you comfortable on the skin up. Patagonia brushed the polyester lining to add warmth and enhance moisture management.

Updated this season with a refined silhouette, the Untracked Pants feature a low-bulk fit for a more streamlined look. The articulated pattern provides mobility, so you can reach for those turns with ease. Side vents with watertight zippers ensure that snow doesn't seep through and can be opened to quickly dump heat. Gaiters keep powder out of your boots to keep you warm and comfortable all day.

  • Sniff out the soft stuff in these ski or snowboarding pants
  • Three-layer Gore-Tex shell is waterproof and breathable
  • Brushed tricot backer for added warmth
  • Mesh-lined side vents for temperature regulation
  • Gaiters seal out snow for all-day comfort
  • Regular fit leaves room for extra layers without being baggy
  • Patagonia builds proven mountain goods from its home base in Ventura, California

Exceeded Expectations

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Great pants with plenty of pockets. For us comfortable. I think Patagonia has gone a long way to improve men’s pants “ergonomics,” we shall call it. They sit comfortably just at the hip with plenty of “roominess,” without being overly baggy. Nice ventilation and adequate pockets. My only complaint is the tiny powder skirt loop to attach the jacket. It’s too small.

Nice Pants

Get these pants for my Dad. They are a nice pair of ski pants for both resort riding and some touring.

    Great Fit & Look

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I got the orange color. I'm 6' 0" and 182lbs. The medium fits perfect. They were on the high end of my budget but very happy with the purchase

    Loving These Pants So Far

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Large

The only issues I have had with them is the sizing. I was right in between a medium and large. Medium was perfect length but too tight in the thighs and waist. The larges were big and too long but doable. I went with more room and movement with the larges and glad I did. I just cinched up the velcro adjustments a tad and the waist was good. I'll have to watch to not step on the heels of the pant so I fold them up. Also the bottom is a tad tight around my Vans boa snowboard boot. Other than that I really do like them! I'm usually a large in most other pants.

Reach out to Patagonia they offer hemming services on technical outerwear through their repair program for a very reasonable fee. I was in the same boat between M and L and will be sending L pants in to get hemmed when the season is over.

    Solid Pants, Great Fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

What more can I say, for a sub $500 gore shell pant these things rock. Great face fabric that is soft and doesn't seem to wear down paired with gore tex that keeps you dry. Large side zips for ventilation and all the other necessary features make this my go to resort and touring pant.

    Patagonia Sizing..

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

I'm 5'8", 160 lbs. My regular pant size is a 31x30. These pants fit perfectly and comfortably around the waste, with a little adjustment from the internal waist bands. However, they're super long.

In my experience with this pant, the smalls have the right length but too tight of a waist. And the mediums have the right waist, but are too long. Even with ski boots on they're too long and just bunch awkwardly.

Call it sacrilege, but I got these pants shortened at an alterations shop. Ya its probably not great for the goretex, waterproofing, etc. but I'm not losing any sleep over it. Otherwise, its worth noting these pants have a great fit in the sense that they're not all up in your business, but they're not super baggy either. They hang loose and relaxed for a great and comfortable range of motion.

    Super duper pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Liked these pants so much I decided to buy another pair. Sweet deal at the end of season price. Feel is great and love that they are made from Goretex so they can take a beating. They are a bit on the baggy end but still have a great fit. Very happy with the purchase.

    Articulated fit is amazing

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Fit: The articulated fit is not very clean looking when you walk around. There is extra material. The pants look athletic though and have some really cool details. When I skied in them they just felt great. There is no resistance from the material because they are cut as if you are bending your knees skiing or snowboarding. Every ski pant has some articulation but these are really articulated. So as a pant designed for an athletic activity they are great. Make that fantastic.

Warmth: The lining on the inside makes a big difference. They're not insulated but very warm for a shell and because of that lining you can wear them comfortably without a base layer in the spring.

Breathability: They are warm. And goretex is not air permeable so I got too warm in them skiing bumps. But there are big side vents for dumping heat which I used a lot. I was also skiing in spring like conditions so that may also be why they felt so warm.

Durability: Don't know yet. Only a couple of days in them so they're still perfect. I don't know how these things could rip without some major incident. They sure feel solid.

Construction: These things are top notch. Everything from the material to the zippers feels like quality. Better than any other ski pant I looked at.

I really like these pants and highly recommend them. They're kinda baggy in a cool athletic way, the material feels soft for goretex, every detail is high quality, they have lots of pockets and they're just built to rip down the mountain.

    great pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

These are my favorite ski pants Patagonia makes, and my pant of choice for resort days and chillier backcountry tours. The fabric is great, a little softer and warmer than a traditional shell pant and has held up well over 3 seasons. Happy with the outer thigh vents, and the cargo pockets are nice and roomy for lunch of an extra set of gloves. Definitely two thumbs up.

    Would not recommend

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Small

I got these pants as a christmas gift and was really excited about them. They seems to be well made at first, but ripped after only 4 times on the hill. I have been skiing for 25 years and never had a pair of pants break down like this. I contacted Patagonia and they said I could send them in for repair but it would take 4 weeks to get back and all they could do is patch the rip. It is pretty disappoints when you get a pair of pants that cost over $400 and they rip within a month. Then to top it off the companies response is all we can do is patch it for you. I would defiantly not purchase these again and would never recommend them to anyone.

I thought they have a lifetime warrenty? Patagonia?

You say you would defiantly not purchase these again, but earlier you said you received them as a gift. Was it a gift you bought for yourself? If I received these as a gift, I really wouldn't be too upset, since I didn't pay for them myself... that is unless I bought them to give to myself.
