New favorite jacket <3
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I initially bought this jacket so that I could have a truly waterproof rain coat. And Patagonia came through. I waited to write a review until after actually using this product for its intended purpose, as a rain jacket. I was not disappointed. This jacket wicks water like no other and after wearing it through a couple of rain storms so far this year, I have stayed perfectly dry and comfortable. Although it is slightly larger than a typical medium, it works for me since I like to layer under shells and I was able to avoid sizing up for that purpose. Also, the Patagonia's Hemlock Green is literally the perfect color.

bad fit
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I am 5'6" and generally wear size 8 shirts and 10 pants. The M was 2 inches too long in the sleeves and way too tight on my butt. I usually don't have trouble with clothes fitting but I guess Patagonia's fit model is just a totally different shape than me?

Stuff fabric
This jacket looks cute but feels awful when it’s on. The fabric is stiff and resembles a plastic trash bag

Noisy stiff fabric
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
As soon as I opened the package I knew this wouldn't work. The fabric felt stiff and it crinkled. It's a rain jacket but I could tell it wouldn't breathe and would be uncomfortable. Maybe someone would like this, it had high ratings, but it was not for me.

NOISY AND NO FREE RETURNS
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
While this jacket has a LOT of great features, I decided I didn't want to keep it because it was just too noisy. I had tried on a Kuhl jacket with similar features, but a much softer, less crunchy texture, so I decided to return this and get the Kuhl. What I didn't realize when I ordered this jacket is that Backcountry CHARGES you for returns. I had the choice to purchase this same jacket from other retailers at an identical price, but I chose Backcountry. I won't make that mistake again in the future. I don't understand how an online-only store can justify charging customers for returns.

Duh, it's Patagonia!
Just got my new rain jacket! Could not wait to try it on, but I did because I was making a curry for tonight and well, I did not want any of the spices on my new jacket. It fits great and I can even put my down puffy under it for the cold Salida dog walks when it's snowing. We travel all the time (Covid has changed that, for now) but that doesn't mean that our year old rastapoodle cares that I don't want to go out when it's raining. I did that last week and my poor, worn-out rain jacket was too breathable; I was wet all over when I got home. My birthday is coming up and thought I should shop for a new waterproof and breathable jacket. Of course, I read all the reviews from all the sources. I love all things Patagonia and have since the early '80's when I could afford great outdoor gear. The hardest part was deciding on a color. Love the pit zips, the length and the cover that the hood provides. It's light enough for a humid, Southern rain, as well. Over the years I have sold some Patagonia at bike swaps and given some to family/friends when I got tired of it but I have never been able to wear it out. I know I will have years of use out of this jacket. Happy Birthday to me! :-)

Wonderful jacket
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought this for my daughter age 27. She loves the fit! It is a great coat and the price was much less than other stores. This company has great costumer service and fast deliveries especially during Covid. I have been very impressed ! I have already used them 4 times!
