Cut for the coast.

The Patagonia Men's Stretch Planing 20in Board Short is a coastal classic, making it a favorite choice for tropical vacations, plunging into spring-fed lakes, and playing along shore breaks. It's designed to keep you free of irritation in the water, thanks to its inseam-free construction and notched outseam for freedom of movement.

The quick-drying recycled polyester fabric features two-way mechanical stretch characteristics so it stays flexible when you're swimming, diving, and playing in the surf. The DWR finish accelerates the short's drying process, so you're not a dripping-wet mess after hitting the beach. The short also sports a UPF 50+ rating, meaning it'll protect you from searing UV rays at the beach and lake.

  • Classic trunks for beach trips and swim days

  • Lightweight, quick-drying recycled polyester fabric
  • DWR finish sheds moisture for quick-drying comfort

These are great. Use these casually and because of how comfortable they are, decided to grab a couple pairs. The fit is great and they stretch while staying durable. Love em.

I love the dolomite blue color. The shorts are comfy and serve their purpose when sitting pool side or just hanging out.

I love the stretchy fabric that Patagonia went with on these shorts, you hardly notice that they are even on. The fit was perfect, and they don't chafe at all so they are perfect for adventuring down a river or lounging by the pool.

Been wearing Patagonia board shorts since 2000. They've come a long way in improving what is just a really basic design. Use to wear the wavefarer , but always found them restricting. I then switched to the stretch wavefarer, and the stretch was great...but they're a little long and overtime get really stretched out. Now these...they are probably as good as it gets in my opinion. Stretchy, perfect length just above knee, button closure, lightweight, dry super fast, durable/ethically sourced materials, cool patterns, etc. I like them so much I just ordered a second pair. I plan on using these for surfing, sup, yoga, calisthenics, hanging out...pretty much everything outside of the office. Can't go wrong with these.
