Great fit!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

The wife loves how comfortable it is. Great product, good fit - great for outdoor activities.

Sweet Bottom.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

From ocean to stream, to lakeside then poolside, I've had no issues with these bottoms! They have great coverage and for someone who doesn't sit still when there is water to play in, I don't feel like I need to adjust them every 5 seconds. Have had them for a couple years now and they're still hangin' in there!

Typical

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: medium

I read the reviews but still decided to give it a go: As with every other bathing suit I've ever tried on and most I've ever seen, this one has such thick seams that it pulls the material and even though it's brand new, it came out of the packaging with wrinkles and bunching along all stitching. The thick edges also cut in and on someone with any sort of butt, it looks incredibly bad and is uncomfortable. I kept this only because I have never NOT had this issue with a bathing suit and at clearance prices, was ok keeping it.

One positive: it stays put. My butt stays covered when I swim.

Disappointed in quality

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

After wearing these bikini bottoms just two times, the threads around the waist began to unravel. I was away on vacation and that was my swimsuit, so I wore it a few more times and it is now falling apart at the top seam. I am thoroughly disappointed in the poor quality of this particular pair. However, I did like the fit and love the Kupala bikini top. I would have exchanged or returned them, but by the time I got home from my trip, it was after 30 days. I have liked Patagonia products in the past, but will likely not choose them again.

Sorry you're unhappy with your purchase. Although it's outside of the Backcountry warranty window you should definitely contact Patagonia directly and they will take care of you. 800-638-6464

questionable material

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I've heard that patagonia swim suits wear out fast, but I decided to try this. I'm a little sketched out by the material! it has those fine ripples around the hips that swim suits get as they wear out. But the fit is good and the price is right. I'm giving it a try.

Have to agree with this review, I've purchased a few "Sunamee" bottoms and the quality of the black one I ordered recently was so poor I returned it immediately. The material was almost sheer and was not nearly stretchy enough.

Repurchase of great bottom

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

This was a repurchase for my girlfriend because she wore her old pair out after two years of heavy beach/hot springs/river use. She's a size 27 in jeans and the Small fits her great, with just enough coverage and no riding up.

Runs Small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I had to return this bottom - it was too small. Usually Patagonia runs large and I wear a size 2 in their hiking pants. But this swim bottom could not adequately cover my backside. It didn't have enough rise to uphold my "no top crack" rule on bathing suits. I have a gorgeous bottom - but it is nearly impossible to find swim bottoms that do it justice. Shame on you Patagonia. Why don't you design something for the non-Anglo backside?

Tough to find a good bottom

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I bought these because they look like they have good coverage (I'm not keen on showing off my cheeks). Got the medium (I;m 5'6" 135 lbs) and while the coverage is nice I didn't like the band around the edges because the elastic cut into my skin. Sad to be returning it.

Rebecca! Try the Icebreaker Sprite Boy Shorts.

LOVE them! They have good coverage and they are really comfy.

Love the look

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I got the desert turquoise bottoms and same too for the solid kupala bikini top. I'm 5'6", 130ish lbs but have a very flat (small) butt so the small worked perfectly. Stays in place, great color, good coverage in back.

Perfect

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Finding the right swim bottom can be hard and these are perfect. They are simple, good quality and fit just right!

Cute bottoms, beware of waves!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I've had 2 pairs of these bottoms now and I like them okay. I had lost them in some turbulent water (several times) however. I have thought about sizing down, but when I try on the smaller size, they are waaaay too low in the front. Anyway, I get them because they match the top I like and I usually wear shorts, so not a big deal, but something to consider.

sporty coverage

i am 5'5@ 125lbs, and bought these bottoms in the medium - perfect fit, with no muffin top, but still tight enough to not float off when high tide rolls in.

    great fit

I am 5'7" 118 lbs, ordered the small and they fit perfect. Good coverage and look super cute.

      Beware of Muffin Tops!

I ordered these bottoms last spring along with the Patagonia Kupala top. I loved the fit of the top (Med.), very sporty, with a criss-cross back, that keep my girls (34C) in place in every situation. But the bottoms... the cut across the waist was tight enough to give me a muffin top (!) while the seat etc. fit just fine, that was in a medium size. So I returned that one and ordered a large thinking that surely would do the trick (I'm 5'7 and 140Lb.). Again same problem with a unproportioned, tight, waistband. Okay, at this point I love my matching top and am willing to size up one more time for the matching bottoms. So I order and XL. The waist is still slightly tighter than I would like, I understand these are supposed to be sporty bottoms and that you want them to stay put but come on! P.S. I still love you Patagonia, forgive me for the bad review!
