Soft, quiet warmth defines the Silent Down Jacket for everyday winter comfort and travel

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I reach for this jacket when I want warmth that feels effortless and comfortable all day. The fabric is noticeably soft and quiet compared to traditional down jackets, and the stretch makes a big difference for daily movement. It’s warm enough for cold errands and travel, yet clean-looking enough to wear straight to dinner."

We love the Silent Down Jacket for the days when winter is part of the routine, not the objective. Patagonia designed this jacket to feel supple, quiet, and comfortable—perfect for commuting, travel, and everyday life when we want warmth without the technical look or crinkly feel of traditional down layers.

The recycled 700-fill down delivers dependable loft and warmth, while the stretchy polyester shell moves naturally and feels soft against layers. A stand-up collar seals in heat around the neck, and the streamlined silhouette layers easily without bulk. Whether we’re heading out for errands, walking through town, or packing for a cold-weather getaway, this jacket blends warmth, comfort, and understated style with ease.

Great jacket

This jacket is lightweight and super comfortable while also being very warm! Some Patagonia items seem cut for a tall and thin person, but this one is forgiving and fits just right for a petite and curvy frame. This is my second one, I also have it in green. Love it.

Cute fit, cheap quality

The fit was really cute, but the quality was so bad I couldn't keep it. For the amount of money these cost, I'd hope they would feel sturdy. No way I'd take this hiking or camping without worrying about the whole thing falling apart.

Great versatility from skiing to town!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I purchased this jacket with the intent to use it on winter trips both as a "town jacket" and an insulating layer under my shell when skiing in very cold weather. I just completed a two week trip, and it worked great. Functions on the mountain and looks good a dinner. I have owned "down sweaters" and other down layering products from Patagonia. This one is so appealing because of its versatility.

love it

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've had this for a couple years and love it. I'm 5' and I've been very happy with the length. It's very warm and light weight. The only con is that sometimes feathers poke through the fabric. It's easy to maneuver in and quiet when you move around.

First Time Buying a Patagonia Down Jacke

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is my first time buying a Patagonia down jacket, and I love it! I'm 165 cm tall and weigh 142 lbs. The size L fits me perfectly, and the color is so beautiful—it makes it easy for my child to spot me. I highly recommend it to everyone. Thanks!

Great fit!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am petite (5') and this jacket fits me perfectly! And it's really warm for when I don't feel like layering up with my base layers and fleece. I like that the color black is not the very dark shiny black that lots of these jackets in black are these days. Would recommend!

Fit is perfect ??

Got this coat as a running errands/going to and from work coat. Wanted a coat that was cute for every day and not beat up from skiing. This fit the bill!!! I am pretty small and got a small. An XS probably would have been better but I wanted it to be roomy in case I need to layer. I got the blue and it is a bit darker than pictured, but still recommended 10/10.
