Price doesn't match quality

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This parka/coat works best in fall/spring when you don't need too many layers underneath. For cooler weather, it's not very warm unless you layer but it's cut narrow from the waist up so there's not much room for layering. The slim fit could be a problem for bigger busted women. Also, the fabric is thin and snags easily and the zipper keeps getting caught on the fabric. Very annoying. It could also use a drawstring hood to keep warm from the wind. Anyway, who is Patagonia fitting their women's clothing for? Ultra marathoners? Women have curves so they should make their clothing fit the way they're supposed to for women.

Fits but zipper mechanism is hard to use

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Go for larger size than usual, but am concerned about the zipper design. Seems to be sluggish to move.

Disappointed

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I loved everything about this coat upon receiving it. However, it does run on the small side AND the zipper is defective. Right off the bat, the zipper got stuck on the fabric inside the zipper track NUMEROUS times. After having the coat only about 1.5 months, the zipper got stuck and after trying to remove the 'zipped up fabric' several of the zipper teeth came off. HHMPHHH! For the amount of money I paid, I would expect more. I do like the color and its pretty warm for daily use into work and around town, but not what I was expecting.

Perfect

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought the jacket for two upcoming trips to chilly locations. Although there was an issue with my order, I received excellent customer service and my jacket was delivered next day for free. I purchased the Small in black and I love it. I'm 5'7", about 130 lbs, 34B chest, and it fits like a glove. Some reviews mention that it is running small, I agree, but I had no issue with wearing a hooded sweatshirt underneath. I love how lightweight it is, how it is easily packed, and the longer length.

Defective Zipper

All of my coats and jackets over the past two decades have been Patagonia. I love the brand, the way it fits, the colors, and the quality. However, this coat, as much I love it (great color, lightweight, flattering fit) the zipper keeps getting stuck, one out of two zips. Very frustrating. Never had this problem with Patagonia before.

Perfect coat for walking in the city

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I live in Boston so thought I needed a larger parka, but I really love this coat! This is the perfect jacket for walking to a store or the gym. It looks nice and fits like the other Patagonia jackets (slightly slim fit). I am usually a medium and ordered a large and it fits perfect, on cold days I could even where an extra layer underneath. Some people commented about the zipper - it is the same problem as any longer coat with a zipper - you have to bend down to ensure it is aligned - totally worth it for the longer, warmer length. On the few days where is is below 20 degrees, I may opt for my full length waterproof parka otherwise I plan to wear this coat through the winter.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE MY JACKET!!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I'm so glad i read the reviews and ordered a size up!! It fits perfect!! My shoulders are a little broad so i'm glad i ordered the xl instead of the large. I have room to wear a sweater or layers underneath and be comfortable. The colors is fabulous too!! We've already experienced some freezing temps and this coat with it's length keeps me so warm. It is well worth what i paid for it!!!

Love the jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This jacket is just what I was looking for, light weight and warm. It does run small and I had to send the first one back and get a larger size. The sleeves are now a little long for me, but they will work OK. If you want to wear a sweater under it I suggest you get a size larger. Love the inside pocket and stitching.

Runs very small

Very stylish fitted coat, but runs extremely small, especially at the arms and chest. The arms are long enough but are way too tight. I bought a large, which I usually wear, but could barely move my arms, let alone bend them. Prior to this coat, I had purchased an XL in another Patagonia parker, but different style, and the XL was too big. I'm hoping the XL in this fitted parka will fit. For reference, I am 5'7 and 185#. I agree, most women will have to size up.
