Macro Puff Hooded Down Jacket

The Patagonia Women's Macro Puff Hooded Jacket has the look and feel of most down puffies, but unlike down, the Macro Puff's insulation stays warmer when you're trekking in colder, wetter climates. Its Plumafill insulation maintains warmth when you're wet, and the DWR-treated shell sheds moisture ranging from snowflakes to light rainfall. The helmet is compatible with climbing helmets, and the adjustable hem stays secure under harnesses.

  • Down-like puffy warms up cold camping trips and climbing sessions
  • Unlike down, Plumafill insulation stays warm when wet
  • Recycled ripstop shell treated with DWR for water-resistance
  • Adjustments at hem and alpine helmet-compatible hood

    Cute, not warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS

Cute jacket, XS fit was perfect (5’4” 115#, 34-27-34). But I needed something warmer, so I returned the jacket. I tried this on an early November dog walk in Connecticut (58 degrees, dry weather, dusk, 40 min @ about 3+ mph). I wore a turtleneck, soft shell jacket, this macro puff, a North Face shell, and a scarf. I was still chilly. Just FYI I’m most comfortable when it’s 75 - 80 outside.

Formfitting: Conforms to the body's contours.
Slim Fit: Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
Regular Fit: Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.
Relaxed Fit: Drapes loosely on the body.
    How to Measure:
Measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
    Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
    Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
    Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
    Inseam:
Inseam will vary depending on style; when lengths are offered, "short" is 30, "regular" is 32 and "long" is 33. Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
