Not for Beefy thighs

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 35

Outstanding shorts but I would recommend going 2 inches larger on the waist if you have larger thighs. I wear a 33 normally and fit perfectly into the 35s.

Good Color but Run Small

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 31x6

Good shorts but they definitely run small. I would suggest going up one-to-two sizes. My legs and butt are also above average in size, so these shorts are not tailored well to a stronger lower build.
Although these shorts are lightweight, they do not hold up to the Patagonia standard I was hoping. On one climbing trip they got a fray on the thigh just from normal wear and a rip in the seam.
Overall, ok shorts, good for warmer weather, but I would not purchase another pair.

Great light weight short

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I love these for their light weight feel and clean lines. Great alternative to the paty stand up shorts.

I was ordered 32 size, but i want 31 size.
    Can I change the size?

Loved it, but my fat legs didn't

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 32

I was excited to get these shorts. I should have tried them on before purchasing them on line. The shorts are great, but they were not tailored for someone with muscular legs or butt. Not at all. I'm 5'8'', 178lbs and a 32 in waist.

    Summer breeze

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30

Snagged these at the beginning of summer and love the light material. Super soft and supple.

        Inconsistent Sizing!!!

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: 30

Tried on these shorts in the "Mojave Khaki" color, size 30 and they fit perfect, but weren't quite the color I wanted. So I then ordered the same shorts in the the "Forge Grey" color, size 30 and they were way too small - fit more like a 28 waist, not 30. Will return the shorts, will not re-order. This sizing inconsistency is not something I would expect from a company of Patagonia's caliber - will probably have to order/buy other brands' shorts that I know has very consistent sizing and fit. Bummed I will likely no longer be a Patagonia customer because I cannot rely on their products to fit as expected. And to top it all off, Backcountry makes you pay a $6.99 UPS fee just to return this terrible product - I will be sure to never order another product from Backcountry!

Hi Lowell, We will makes exceptions on that whenever we can. And, especially for issues like this. Just reach out and ask! Thanks.
