Is this item same as Patagonia headway tote 20L?
Some outlets also describe the item as women’s tote and I’m wondering if it’s the same item or Patagonia makes them in a different sizes.

    So close!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Hunting for a new laptop bag/travel bag and this was SO close!

I need to fit a 15" MacbookPro for starters, and it was just too small for the computer.

As other reviews mentioned, the top opening is too narrow and makes it difficult to find and organize other items in the bag, and the shoulder straps are not really big enough.

If Patagonia made this wider to fit the laptop sideways (and wide enough for a 15" MBP), with a little extra room in the top access and longer straps to fit more comfortable on people's shoulders, it would be a home run.

The material is perfect (burly, appears great for travel and every day use). The inside organizational pockets are very much appreciated. And I love that they added a sleeve on the outside so you can attached it to the handle of a roller bag while traveling. Super nice touches there.

    Sturdy but nice-looking bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I am thrilled with this bag! I bought this to replace a backpack as my main work bag. I was looking for something sturdy and weather-proof with more internal organization than your average tote-bag, and some padding for my laptop.
I was skeptical that this could hold as much as my (smaller sized Patagonia backpack), but it holds my 13" laptop, iPad mini, lunchbox, coffee thermos and other small items easily. I don't have an issue with the small arm straps, though a longer adjustable strap would be a great addition. The internal pockets have some nice options for keeping things organized inside the bag.

Quality is good, straps are not

This bag is constructed of quality materials , good size to fit lots of stuff, but the two very small arm straps are thumbs down for me. Is it a city bag or utility bag, make up your mind. I am going to sew some extra straps on the bag so I can throw it over my shoulder to accommodate the weight of carrying . The bag itself is super.

Well thought out, but not quite right

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs small

The bag itself is well thought out and purposefully designed but a few things stand out to me:
      - the odd shape of the top limits the amount of stuff you can pack in it - it seems like the bag is tapered but it's mostly because it's slightly wider at the top than the base when it's not stuffed full of things
      - it probably won't fit a 15" laptop in the sleeve comfortably, I was surprised at how my 13" MacBook Pro came closer to the top than I expected
      - it will probably not fit an iPad-sized tablet and a laptop in the sleeves (my MacBook and iPad mini fit fine)
      - the interior pockets and organization
      - the ability to fit over a telescoping handle
      - looks more professional than a backpack but is durable
      - the price

I debated whether to return the bag, but this has been the best option for business travel that both looks professional (enough) and is durable that I've been able to find.

      Lots of organization, but heavy

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I purchased this with the intent to use it as a personal item carry-on for travel, but several things made it unsuitable for me. First, while the material is no doubt weather-resistant, the bag is very heavy even without anything in it. Inside is a lighter gray color, which would be helpful for being able to see your stuff. There are many organizational pockets-- inside has a laptop sleeve and a smaller tablet sleeve on one side secured with a velcro strap, and the other side has a small zip pocket, an open mesh pocket (each about 5" wide), a pocket secured with velcro that is about 4" wide but 7" tall (maybe for cords? not sure), and in front of that a couple pen slots and a phone pocket with a velcro strap over the top that is suuuuper skinny--there is no way my android phone fits in this. Outside there is an open pocket with a zipper on the bottom that could fit over a luggage handle, and on the other side there is a pocket with a zipper. The glass blue color is a nice teal-ish blue, and the handles and zippers are navy. The bottom was only 5 1/2" by my measuring tape, and once all those inside pockets are filled with gear I suspect there wouldn't be much room for a change of clothes or other odds and ends. The bag doesn't open very wide at the top, so it would be hard to find things or reach stuff that is on the bottom. The Patagonia brand is great and clearly some thought and craftsmanship went into this bag's design, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me.
