Down Sweater Jacket

Consider the Patagonia Women's Down Sweater Jacket as a Jane of All Trades, if you will. This jacket touts a versatile construction that makes it ideal for early-season ice climbing, mid-winter skiing, or casually wearing in cool winter temperatures. As its name suggests, the Down Sweater is equipped with lightweight and compressible 800-fill Traceable Down, meaning the geese whose feathers insulate this jacket are never force-fed or live-plucked. Additionally, the down insulation is certified by NSF, an independent third party.

Down insulation is fine and dandy, but it's virtually useless without a little extra protection—which is why the designers at Patagonia outfitted the jacket with a durable recycled ripstop exterior that safeguards your core warmth, without compromising the jacket's lightweight constitution. And to bolster your defense, a DWR treatment easily sheds light moisture, so you stay warm and comfortable no matter what Mother Nature throws your way. Horizontal baffles are sewn through to prevent the down from shuffling around, meaning you stay warmer, longer, while the updated, contoured fit and slightly longer hem length double down on your protection. Additionally, zippered hand pockets keep small necessities close by and secure, and an internal chest pocket easily converts into a stuff sack for the jacket.

  • A versatile, warm jacket for climbing or casual wear
  • Recycled ripstop exterior is tough, breathable, and lightweight
  • DWR treatment sheds light moisture
  • 800-fill Traceable Down assures lofted warmth
  • Hand pockets keep small necessities close by
  • Internal pocket doubles as a stuff sack for jacket
  • Adjustable hem provides a personalized, sealed-in fit
  • Contoured fit and slightly longer hem double down on warmth

Great Lightweight Jacket

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

This is my friend's favorite jacket for the bay area weather! Super super lightweight but very warm. She love the grey color too, it goes with everything. My friend says that she will get the same one for her mother and sisters too!

Super Warm

Really warm jacket, stylish for most occasions, lightweight, and true to size

Super Warm with out the fluff!

Super warm with out the fluff! I bought my jacket a size bigger in case I decide to wear layers underneath.Brilliant! I get extra discount from here: coupon-code.info

      Good Jacket - Zipper Broke

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I really like this jacket for general warmth and style. I wouldn't say I "put it through the wringer" though. I would define the usage more like, "I wear it a few times per week when I walk my dog to Starbucks and out to tailgate football games." There is absolutely zero camping, hiking, kayaking, etc. on my resume. I digress. This was my second Patagonia jacket and the second jacket that has zipper issues. One of the zippers on the outside pocket no longer works and the inside pocket zipper constantly gets caught in the material. I still wear it since unlike my other one which had the main zipper break, it technically works. $500 later, I'm not 100% sold on Patagonia.

Great Jacket! Runs a Bit Large.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Small

I love this jacket! It's where lightweight meets warmth! I did find it to run a bit large, so exchanged for a smaller size. Otherwise, five stars!

      My favorite jacket

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

I bought the Patagonia down sweater at the end of the winter on a whim, and I love it so much. It is perfect for doing things around town on the warmer late winter days in Minnesota, and it has been awesome outside for those cold spring days. It is the perfect gap coat for temperatures when it is too warm for a winter coat but too cold for a light layer. I love how light it is, and it's super packable too. I can't say enough about how much I love it!

      Another win for Patagonia

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

Absolutely love this company, what they stand for, and this amazing puffy!! Exactly as described.

      Perfect Jacket

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I have had friends raving about this jacket for years, but was unwilling to take the plunge and purchase one for myself. I delayed for no reason as this jacket is perfect. Light weight enough for the Spring and Fall temperatures, but heavy enough that one could use with layers for those cooler winter days. This jacket is well designed, well manufactured, and backed by the Patagonia guarantee. Unfortunately I fall between sizes (Small vs Medium) and ended up sizing up. It is a little roomy for me, but should work well over time with layer. In hindsight I should have stuck with the Small.

      Sweater that’s also a jacket

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I got this for my mom for Mother’s Day and she loves it. It is like a sweater in that you can wear it indoors to stay extra cozy, and she did! But it’s so much more than that. Perfect to throw on in any spring/fall conditions other than rain without having to worry about layering. It also makes a great winter coat if you have a layer underneath.

      wife loves it

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: s

Light weight yet still warm very comfortable.

      AMAZING!

Lightweight yet warm has plenty room for layers! Definitely recommend!

        All-around great jacket

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: True to size

Gave as a gift. Here is what she had to say: "This is one of the best jackets that you can get at this price. It is so versatile, and I find that I am wearing it all the time!"

Haven't taken it off since it arrived

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

I love this jacket. Fantastic color. I'm 5'6" and 125lbs. I bought a Medium so that I could fit sweaters underneath for those really chilly days. I probably could have gone with a small, but the roominess of the medium is great. So pleased.

        Patagonia down sweater jacket

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

I love this jacket. Have not had it off since receiving. Warm! True to size: I am 5 foot, 6 inches, 120 lbs. I bought a medium thinking I might have sweater on also.. I would fit in a small I think but not with sweater underneath jacket. I also love the color. Already several compliments on color—pesto.

        Down sweater jacket

Love this jacket, but the second day I had it my dog put a small tear in the sleeve. Material is almost impossible to fix; so I am out a coat .

Contact Patagonia - they will send a patch! Super easy fix. I don’t sew so had my seamstress neighbor repair mine. It took minutes and nobody even notices.

          Warm and Cozy

          • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She said it's really warm and comfortable. Fits true to size and great for layering under her ski jacket on really cold days

          great jacket!

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times
          • Fit: Runs large
          • Size Bought: Medium

i love this jacket. it's easy to pack for anything, and seems to work in all temperatures (so far). i'd say runs a little bit big, or maybe just not as small as some other patagonia stuff.

          The perfect down jacket

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times
          • Size Bought: XS

Seriously great material (the catch-resistance and hand feel), great zippers (vision = no broken zippers), handy chest pocket.

Plus! Ethical duck down and recycled polyester make this the go-to if you care about the environment.

          Perfect!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Small

I bought this jacket for myself and it fit's perfectly! It's super warm and a perfect length! I've never worn a jacket as much as I wear this one.

          Great fit!

          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Medium

I was nervous to order a medium in this and not have room for layering. Luckily, there is more than enough room for layers and the fit is perfect.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review! It's always helpful to hear the fit of products. Glad you're enjoying it!

Regular Fit: Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.
Relaxed Fit: Drapes loosely on the body.
          How to Measure:
Measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
          Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
          Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
          Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
          Inseam:
Inseam will vary depending on style; when lengths are offered, "short" is 30, "regular" is 32 and "long" is 33. Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
