Patagonia Adze Hybrid Softshell Jacket - Men's

Climb with comfort when it's cold.

Designed for climbing, the Patagonia Men's Adze Hybrid Softshell Jacket will give you the wind-blocking, stretch performance you need when it's cold and windy on the wall. This year's version of the Adze is now lighter with a weight just over 20oz and is lightly insulated with a fleece grid backer that wicks moisture. The three-layer Polartec softshell fabric stops wind from chilling your muscles, and the jacket's DWR finish sheds moisture if it starts to sprinkle. The hand pockets are pack and harness-compatible, and the hem can be tightened through the cord in the pocket and loosened at the hem.

  • Polartec Windbloc stretch-woven polyester softshell (3L)
  • Stretch panel underarms and cuffs
  • DWR finish
  • Fleece grid lining
  • Modified variable condition cuffs
  • Flat-cinch hem adjusted through pocket cord
  • High, harness and pack-compatible hand pockets

Hi, is this jacket the equivalent to TNF Apex Bionic? How do they compare?
Looking for an everyday soft shell with fleece interior for 40's to 60's weather.
Thanks!

its ok

Its alright. Its stretchy, fairly warm, blocks wind, and really durable.I use it for rock climbing and I've dragged it through chimneys and climbed cracks with it and it isn't looking beat up at all. The only thing i dont like is the cuffs on the sleeves. its a small detail that almost ruins the jacket. They arent very elastic so they always drop over my hands and make it hard to climb and they cant really be pushed up you're forearms because they just slide down. I wish i had gotten the hooded version which has Velcro to hold the sleeves in place

Good but was return

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The quality of the jacket was great. I just didn't like how it fit on my near the neck area. I ended up returning this item and bought the hybrid hooded one.

Great soft-shell with nice flex and windstopper action. I have a 40" chest and 31" waist and went with a Medium. One of the things I like the best is the shell's resistance to abrasion. It has a more durable feel than a nylon soft shell so you do not have to worry as much about the material tearing if it gets snagged on a tree branch for example. Patagonia's gear is always worth consideration. NF Apex Bionic would probably fall into this category as well but I preferred the Adze Hybrid.

Great jacket. Perfect for skitouring and climbing. The high pockets are great for keeping out of the way of your harness. it is a superb outer layer for moving hard in cold weather. I routinely layer this with a R1 and baselayer for temps down to single digits and am fine once I start moving. The slim cut keeps things close and enables you throw over a belay jacket or other puffy piece to stay warm at the transition or snack breaks. Superb product. Highly recommend it.

Great softie

Take anywhere go anywhere light jacket. Very comfortable and warm.

Very nice jacket

  • Size Bought: Medium

I bought the green and it looks sharp on me. The stretchy fabric is one of the best features as it moves with you; it's not constricting. It's summer so I can't attest to the wind blocking or warmth yet. I'm also very happy with how quickly Backcountry.com exchanged a large for the medium when I ordered the wrong size. (You need to be about 6'3'' and 200 pounds for a large I think)
