When the leaves are bright and the air is cold, it’s time to slip on the Outdoor Research Women's Vindo Hooded Jacket and head outside for an after-work hike. This jacket has a hybrid mix of breathable and soft fabrics in a flattering design, which is made with a recycled polyester blend external layer, Alpin-Wool internal layer, and polyester back, side, and underarms. To complement this high-tech construction, it’s insulated with 60 grams of cozy polyester fill that keeps you toasty on the trail. - Q & A
I just moved to the pacific northwest and I'm looking for a go-to jacket through the misty winter. This has some wool on the outside but do you think it would stay warm when wet?
Hmmmm, this is more of a fall, cooler weather jacket with no water resistency at all... but what I would do is consider a lightweight water proof shell to have with you at all times, like the Helium II Jacket from OR. Packs to the size of a softball and is less than 6 oz.... store it in your bag or pack, and throw it on top if it starts to rain. THEN you will be STOKED!
