Outdoor Research Rando Cap - Men's
Outdoor ResearchRando Cap - Men's

Play ball. Snowball that is.

Wintertime doesn't mean you have to wear some hat with an 8lb pom pom on top or a bomber cap lined with the fur of a dozen mountain weasels. Sport the Outdoor Research Rando Cap, and get superior winter warmth and weather protection without sacrificing your easy baseball-cap style. Gore-Tex fabric gives the winter-weight Rando waterproof protection, and a microfleece lining keeps your ears nice and comfy. A bendable wire brim gives you your ideal fit, and the contoured ear flaps can be tucked away when not wanted.

Size

I ordered a size large which is what I where and the hat was way to small. I will be sending it back.

wish the brim was a little shorter

I Would like this hat exactly how it was with a little stubbier brim. I was going to use it as a layer between my helmet and head and the brim stuck too far over the googles for my liking.

Seemed well produced! the medium fit my 56cm head well.

Is the brim on this hat wide/deep enough to protect your face from the sun? I'm looking for a WARM winter hat with a brim for sun protection. Thanks.

Hi Adelia, look at the Prismatic Cap from OR for a longer brim!

    Have fun,

Would like a wider & longer brim

I really like the fit of this cap. The inside is lined so it will be great to wear in cooler temps. I love that it has a tightening thing on the back and the ear flaps cover my ears and neck completely. I got a medium, I thought I would do a small but when I went in store to a local retailer the small would be too tight. I was planning to use this under the hood of my rain coat because my hoods never seem to cover my whole head. I end up scrunching up my shoulders & pulling down on the hood to keep my face from getting all wet and prevent me from seeing. I will be returning because the brim will not do the job I need it to do. I really like the hat though and if I could spare the $ I would keep it! Seems durable and would keep your noggin warm in cooler temps.

Hey Aubrey, Thank you for taking the time to write. We do make a warm ballcap that covers the ears (the fleece folds down when you need it), and its called the Prismatoc Cap: http://www.backcountry.com/outdoor-research-prismatic-cap?s=a
    Please check it out!

Hi Leta! So, the Primatoc Cap - it does have ear flaps with fleece? Are the flaps covered in a waterproof coating or is it a different material than the rest of the cap? I saw this hat but did not know it had the ear flaps. Thank you for commenting and letting me know! Look forward to hear from you :)
