The perfect pants for powder skiing.

Steep lines, mad powder, pillow drops, and cliffs: the Men's Igneo Pants from Outdoor Research are ready for any conditions the resort dishes out. Waterproof and windproof Pertex Shield+ fabric fights the elements while strategically placed Thermore insulation keeps in the warmth. Zippered, mesh-lined thigh vents keep you comfortable while you're hoofing it to earn the goodness. Internal stretch gaiters with slots for your boot's power straps keep the snow reserved for face shots rather than flying up your legs, and reinforced scuff guards add to the Igneo's durability. Articulated knees allow for uninhibited shredding, and a brushed, tricot-lined waistband adds soft comfort.

  • Best-selling ski pants for powder day
  • Pertex Shield+ is reliably waterproof, windproof, and breathable
  • Zippered inner thigh vents with mesh linings to keep snow out
  • Stretchy boot gaiters with power strap slot for extra security

Just Fine

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I've used these for a season. They are fine. Nothing special. Nothing bad.

Not too tight. Not too baggy. Decent pockets. Not sure of the point of the powerstrap openings. The pants are held closed at the waist by two snaps. So far the snaps have held fine, but they don't feel super secure, and I wonder how long they will last. I wore them with a belt, and there's plenty of loops. Would like some suspender tabs.

Works excellently

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Just got back from 4 days in Whistler in waist deep snow and temperatures way below freezing. My legs didn't get cold a single time. I'm 180lbs and 6'1'' and the medium fit perfectly on the waist and over my boots. They materials doesn't "feel" super tough at first, but they definitely are. Even in deep powder I stayed dry and warm. The zip pockets are great too. The fit is solid, slightly baggy without being obnoxious.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
