Breathable and Warm

I will agree these pants have a tight fit from the knee up, but i think OR designed them with the idea of wearing gaiters with the pants, which I do 50% of the time I use them, and the tighter fit around the upper leg creates no bunching with the gaiter. The tight legs don't bother me while ice climbing, I did try ski touring in them, and they were a bit too tight and too warm. The bottom of the pants has a zipper that opens up and will allow a ski boot to fit if you want to give it a try though. I wear these pants ice climbing down to 10 degrees with no base layer, they still breath and vent well for the uphill hike.
