  • Full-coverage bib keeps you dry so you can chase pow all day
  • Gore-Tex C-Knit 3L shell offers lightweight, breathable protection
  • Mapped stretch panels and articulated knees for full mobility
  • Reinforced scuff guards so you won't shredding your cuffs
  • Conveniently located avalanche beacon pocket for easy beacon access

Lightweight and Free Moving

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I’m 5’9” and 150 lb and have size medium.

These bibs feel like wearing nothing, and go perfect with the hemisphere jacket. They are perfect for touring, as hiking in them feels like wearing lightweight flexible hiking pants. Super waterproof but I haven’t used them enough to know how durable they will be. As advertised, they are extremely light and you’ll need to wear an insulated mid-layer on cold days at a resort, but for me it’s worth it for how comfortable they are.

My only complaint is that they are a bit baggy around the hips, and going down a size would make them too tight. But this doesn’t inhibit the performance at all, just an aesthetic thing.

I would highly recommend these for anyone who spends lots of time in the backcountry and doing bootpacks at resorts.

Nice fit but poor construction

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

Bought these at beginning of 19/20 ski season. Lightweight and gussets make for great mobility -- perfect for touring or warmer days but needs mid-layer on cold days.

boot cuff ripped after less than 10 days skiing - some tears all the way through. reached out to OR customer service given relatively light use and was told warranty doesn't cover rips...

Nice fit but poor construction

Very Thin

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Large

I had read positive reviews and liked the brown color, so I ordered this bib. After trying it on, I returned it.

It was baggier than I wanted and there was no way to adjust the waist size. I felt the next size down would be a smidge too tight. It's also extremely thin, so much so I would worry about durability. I would also need super-warm layering underneath it on a cold day. The stretchy mesh-like material at the low back and crotch seems opaque but even thinner.

If you are just the right size for the size you order and are using it for backcountry and are concerned about weight, it's probably for you. I'm sure it's a quality piece for its intended use; I just want something more substantial for resort use and better fitting.

Best Piece of Gear I Bought All Year

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I tried on a bunch of different bibs before buying these and I didn't find any that fit me how I wanted. I ended up purchasing the Patagonia Powslayer Bibs even though I wasn't a huge fan because I was heading to AK for two weeks and needed a pair. Luckily I checked the website the day before I left and BC had one pair of these in stock. I drove to the warehouse, tried them on and exchanged the Powslayers for the Hemisphere bibs. The fit is great. They have a relaxed fit which allows for full range of motion without the fear of blowing a seam but they don't feel or look baggy. The material is soft and flexible which is great for days in the backcountry. They stretch in all the right places (lower back and crotch) I used these for two weeks straight in AK and they performed flawlessly. I only wore a merino base layer underneath and with everything zipped up I was warm at the resort even though it was wet and windy. These really shine in the backcountry though, Huge zips down the legs allow you to dump as much heat as you need to. There are plenty of pockets including a beacon pocket. I kept my beacon, phone, and some snacks in the pockets and had plenty of room to spare. I also really like how the cuffs are reinforced all the way around the and not just on the inside. Oh yeah, and they look awesome too. If OR keeps this up, I could see them taking over Arc'teryx as the top of the line outerwear.

Great review, I'm looking at some right now.
Just a side note on safety, to be that guy, I highly suggest putting your phone in a different pocket than your beacon. If you test it in a scenario with some friends in the parking lot, you will find that the phone interferes with the beacon's signal. That could be a game ender if you needed it.
Stay safe!

Great bib until it gets shredded up

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

First, the positives: this bib is super lightweight, the stretchy material in the crotch and sides is super nice (and waterproof too!), and its very waterproof.

The single overwhelming negative is that this bib just isn't durable. I've put about 20 days on it this season, and the inside of the pants where it contacts my boot just got completely shredded. This happened even on the inner lower legs, where there are reinforced panels. Fortunately the outside fabric seems a bit more durable - I only got a couple of slices from whacking trees and my ski edges.

I'm super bummed that an expensive product made for skiing just got solidly damaged by my ski boots. Wasn't expecting to have to take out the duct tape so early on these pants :(

I had the exact same experience. Previously I was using Mentor Bibs, and those lasted nearly ten years. These won't last two seasons. The stitching holding the internal gaiters together also disintegrated. Pretty outrageous considering the price.

Could use full side zip, all else great

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

Had a chance to try a pair of these out recently, borrowed from a friend. Really echo all the positive things said about them. The only thing I'd suggest is having a full side zip for ease of removal with boots on. Something I like to do with my bib pants in the backcountry, especially if camping out. I know it's a trade off with a few other features, but one of the essentials I look for in a bib pant. Otherwise, well done, but this may limit my purchase choice.

Great Gift

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Size Bought: LARGE

I bought these as a gift for my father and this is what he had to say: "These are top notch! the fit is perfect and the stretchy gore-tex keeps me dry and mobile. I primarily use these for resort skiing, shoveling the driveway and snowmobiling."

Thank you Nick! Thanks for passing it on!

OR Rep

Finally a bib that fits..

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I love bibs - whether skiing or mountain-biking, bibs are so much better for comfort and performance. Have struggled to find a pair as, um, my legs are not long enough for size of my belly. Tried at least 15 pair - wanted to love the FlyLow's but there way too baggy for me. These from OR are EXCELLENT! Not too tight, not too baggy, great material and have held up well after 5 days on the mtn. Mostly doing resort skiing but can imagine they would be phenomenal for backcountry. I also really liked the new strafe bibs but cut and fit not as good. Patagonia pow slayers also nice but not as cool as these. Got the ochre which looks very sharp, but already showing dirt marks. Will probably get the hemisphere shell too based on how nice these bibs are. Am 5'10" and 200 lbs and they fit great. Also fit great when I was 15 lb heavier.

What size did you get? I am similar in stature

Stretch you can Feel, water you wont!

  • Fit: True to size

The new stretch tech from Gore-tex/OR is pretty mind bending. As a snowboarder, I'm always bending over and kneeling low to adjust bindings, grab method, or rip my skins. These pants really stretch and move with you, rather then feeling tight and restrictive like most pants I've used in the past. The stretchy fabric is the real deal, giving you comfort and mobility you've never felt before in a standard hard shell. These puppies feel like your wearing sweatpants, and block water like a space suit! So stoked to put these things to the test this winter!

I am 6'2" and i got size XL for i am a snowboarder and enjoy a more baggy relaxed fit. Very stoked on them!

there is a stretchy panel that runs from the inside of one knee through the crotch to the other knee. how waterproof is it?
