Big walls to sport routes.

Designed with climbing in mind, the Outdoor Research Ferrosi Crag Pant excels on rugged alpine faces and abrasive crags where fluid flex and hard-wearing durability are vital. 90D stretch-woven ripstop strikes the trifecta of climbing performance—being abrasion, wind, and water-resistant. This is not just useful for preventing premature wear and tear, but more importantly, it's key to outlasting passing showers and storms on exposed ledges. Other climb-driven features include a low-profile waistband that easily wears beneath your harness and a zippered thigh pocket for storing folded maps, energy snacks, and other small necessities.

  • 90D stretch-woven ripstop (86% ripstop, 14% spandex)
  • Low-profile, harness-friendly waistband
  • Brushed tricot waistband lining
  • Zippered cargo pocket at thigh
  • Zip fly with button closure
  • Drawcord ankle adjustments
  • Articulated knees
  • Standard fit

Lightweight Climbing Pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I really like the material, fit, and construction of these pants. I have used them exclusively for climbing and have been impressed. They move really well and don't feel restricting at all. I thought the reinforced knees were a really good addition.

Thanks for the great review, Collin!

I wrote a review before how I wasn't happy about the quality of outdoor research ferrosi crag pant, but now I deleted that review because outdoor research is an awesome company to work with. The people are friendly and the service is top notch. I will continue purchasing outdoor research products because they stand behind there infinite warranty. After my experience with them they Now have a lifetime customer. thank you backcountry for the advice, and the great prices on all your gear.

GREAT climbing pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I own about 4 different pairs of "climbing specific" pants, and these are my favorite. Nice slim fit, with tons of stretch to the fabric. Ankle cinches to pull them up out of the way, and cordura over the knees and hips for knee bars and sliding/scrambling. The elastic on the outside of the hips is awesome too. Very light feeling, great for warmer temperatures and for people who don't like to climb in shorts.

One small issue. O.R., if you're listening, make some cooler/brighter colors!! Don't change the pants at all though!

Thank you for the great review! What kind of colors are you thinking? We have some brighter ones coming for S17 - stay tuned!

Thanks for getting back! I'd love to see like a red, yellow, green. Maybe a brick red, colors along those lines.

Very lightweight and durable.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really breathable and hard wearing material. Smart fit, not big unnecessary parachute pants. Make me feel like I can hike all day comfortably. I wear 38 in. Levi's, and the XL Ferrosi pants fit perfectly.

Thanks Andreas! Great review!

Great Pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

These pants fit on the slimmer size, I bought them to replace the last pair of pants I ripped while climbing. They have a nice stretch so as long as your not butt scooting everything they should last for a decent amount of time. The only down side for me is that I wanted to do some spring snowboarding in these but my acl knee brace will have to go over the pant. Not enough room to fit it underneath.
