Outdoor Research Afterburner Glove

You don't have to be a jet pilot to love the Afterburner.

Sport the Outdoor Research Afterburner Glove for wind- and water-resistant protection and for lightweight comfort and warmth. The stretchy softshell outer means your fingers can still move, and EnduraLoft insulation on the back of the hand adds warmth without inhibiting dexterity. A synthetic suede interior and warm fleece backer provide a comfortable fit. This low-profile glove features touchscreen compatibility, and the sculpted neoprene cuff slides easily under jacket cuffs.

Outdoor Research Afterburners work!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I did my first field test of these gloves in 8F with a wind chill of -20F. The conditions were dry so I could not test the waterproofness. I used these for XC skiing and had a couple of cold fingers on my left hand about the first half an hour out. After an hour all my fingers stayed toasty. The wicking was good too. It was too cold to take pictures out in the field but i did test the connectivity by using my Smartphone outside just before getting into the car. It worked beautifully! The fit is great. I am a woman with fairly long fingers and I bought men's medium. They seem well made
