Not fit for women

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I LOVE my Osprey women's packs (a 65L Ariel and 40L Tempest) and wanted to love this one just as much. This pack has amazing features but unfortunately, the fit is all wrong for me, and I would guess most women. Even in the small, the waist belt is too big, the straps are too wide, and the top of the pack rides a bit too high so as to be uncomfortable everywhere (I am almost 5'9"). I wish Osprey, and any other pack maker, would make feature-rich, technical climbing and mountaineering packs specifically fit for women.

Climbing pack and so much more!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have the last product design and love it for all things climbing. I even used it for 1500 miles of my Appalachian Trial thru hike in 2015. It performed amazingly and held up to the abuse of a crusty thru hiker logging 20+ miles a day with it. I didn't have one issue with the pack breaking or performing poorly in the 100+ days I used it on the trail. The back panel didn't even retain that much smell from a hiker that showered every 10 days. Love this pack and it features.

Great review! Thank you Blake!

Great mountain pack

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used this pack for numerous adventures over the past couple of years. I pull it out mostly for winter peak ascents or ski hut touring. I love that is a comfortable pack to carry my gear on an all day tour, and it can also be stripped down - remove the lid, remove the hip belt, even remove the frame sheet for a quick and light mountaineering escape. It carries skis perfectly, it carries ice tools, alpine axe, and a rope. Everything you need. Nothing you don't. Love this pack.

Thank you for writing! Great review -

Simply brilliant, perfect size too

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Simple, elegant, and smartly designed. This pack is the perfect size for long day trips, ski mountaineering, overnight hut trips, and whatever else you can throw at it. I've taken it up several 14ers for skiing. It performed well carrying skis in A frame mode. Really well. It is simple and fast to set up. It holds ice axes well. The hydration pouch works well. I like the volume. It's big enough for a big down coat, 3 liters of water, enough food for a big day, and all the miscellaneous items you need. It’s a top loader with a dedicated external shovel blade pouch. The only thing it lacks is an airbag. (Always something else on the wish list)
