Sirrus 36L Backpack

A women-specific fit and the super-breathable mesh back panel come together to make the Osprey Women's Sirrus 36 Backpack the comfortable choice for long, demanding day hikes or quick overnights. The AirSpeed suspension system blends the rigidity of aluminum stays with a tensioned mesh back panel for effective load transfer and cross ventilation, while the Women-specific Spacer Mesh hip-belt and shoulder straps ensure your load rests where it should for maximum efficiency and pain-free hiking.

An ErgoPull waistbelt closure makes cinching down the belt a breeze, and its hip-belt pockets hold your smartphone, sunnies, or quick snacks to keep your spirits high. Then, ensuring you don't sacrifice a good night's sleep, the wide-mouth access sleeping bag compartment with divider compresses and stores bulky loads, while the sleeping pad straps give you extra external attachment options. And if rain starts to fall on your adventure, deploy the integrated rain cover to keep your gear dry as a bone. A Stow-on-the-Go attachment features let you stash your trekking poles or ice axe for hands-free walking, and the compression straps help you adjust the pack's volume to fit different load sizes.

Perfect - the one pack to rule them all!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I spent a long time and a lot of research packs and finally found THE ONE. This pack has quickly become my winter hiking best buddy and I'm really looking forward to using it for all seasons. Pros: - Very comfortable to carry heavier loads due to the internal frame. - Roomy and well organized. Enough space to carry all my winter hiking layers, and a few extra luxuries (binocs, thermos, helinox chair). Big without being too big. - No hotspots (unlike the newer 2022 version of this pack) - Available in multiple sizes and an adjustable harness. This helps me as a 5'3" woman for whom the one-size-fits all backpack is often too large and suitcase-ish. - Excellent ventilation due to the mesh in the suspension and harness straps. So nice to not have a sweaty back in the winter! And I'm really looking forward to using this feature during the summer. - Compresses down nicely and does so without pulling on the hip belt. This is a much better design as compared to some other Osprey packs where the compression straps are connected to the hipbelt for some weird reason. - Internal hydration pack sleeve is big enough to accommodate a laptop, so I can use this as a travel pack as well. - Overall I liked the quality of the pack and it feels like it will last me a long time. - Extra side zipper for the main compartment is very convenient, and also the bottom "sleeping bag" pocket works as a shortcut to get to items at the bottom of the pack. - Pockets in the lid are generously sized and easy to access. - Hipbelt pockets are just big enough to fit a phone. Could have been bigger but are adequate for my use. - Love having the included rain cover in its separate pocket. Cons: - No stretchy mesh front panel pocket. Instead this pack has a front zippered pocket which is smaller and less suited for stashing things on the go, e.g. a wet jacket. This is the only real con. - This is an older years model and multiple color options are no longer available. Not too big a deal for me, the black color still looks pretty nice due to the orange accents.

Ruska Purple

I am bummed about the color and am still deciding if I want to keep this pack or not. The color was the final selling point for me, but the one I received a few days ago is sadly not even close to the color of the pack pictured. For comparison, I found a picture from an internet search, included here. The color of the pack shown on the right is exactly the color I received, but the left is what I was expecting, and the same as the one for sale here. So, if you are considering the ruska purple color, just know that it is more of a burnt/dark red.
