As Cheap of a Draw As You Can Get

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this set for about $50 when I was just getting into climbing and even at that price I wish I would have spent more for something better. The dog bones are shorter than any I've ever seen and the biners gate action isn't very smooth and they're size and shape just makes them hard to handle. If you don't plan on climbing very often or very hard, then this might be the set for you, otherwise spend a little more to get some better draws.

hardly decent

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I ordered these mostly due to the reduced price. When they arrived at my house and I actully got to hold them , I noticed they weren't very sturdily built. My main concern was that the wire gate could be wiggled side to side. The carabiners are also much smaller than my other BD quickdraws. The runners are also shorter than standard quickdraws. I believe they are about 10 cm when the standard shorter runner is about 12.

Good budget draws

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great way to flesh out your rack on the cheap. The action on the biners seems to be a bit stiffer than average, but doesn't seem to be any harder to clip in the heat of the moment than any of the other draws I own. No problem accomodating relatively thick (10mm) rope.

To keep costs low, the rope end is just sewn tightly instead of having a rubber catch, but it gets the job done. The bolt end could be a little tighter, the biner tends to slip around a bit too much for my tastes.

Good choice if you're a new climber trying outfit yourself on the cheap (like I was when I bought these) or just need some backup draws for longer routes.

The screw-locking carabiner included is small and basic but perfectly functional. Perfect to keep around for setting up top ropes or when you get in over your head and need to bail off a hard sport route...

Excellent Set

I bought these because they were cheap and the reviews from several sites were good. I was not disappointed at all. I have only used them outside a few times, but they have performed like they need to! Definitely a good buy!

A must have!

A set of six quickdraw and a free biner that won't break the bank. They do the job they have do to, they feel safe. Everybody should buy a set because extra quickdraw means higher climbs :)

Good draws with free locking biner!

Quality, no-frills set of quickdraws for a really competitive price. They do everything a draw should - no more, no less.

Way to good to pass up

These draws are FANTASTIC for the price. They aren't the lightest, but they go up easy and they are certainly sturdy. You wont find a better deal on a set of draws. The locking biner DOES come with the set.

This looks like a great deal regardless...

This looks like a great deal regardless but does it come with the extra locking biner like in the picture?

I was at my local REI and they had these draws in stock and clipped to the draws was the locking biner. So I would imagine it would come with it.

yes, the set comes with a locking biner.

    Solid draws for cheap!

Really great pack for people just getting into climbing. The rope clipping end of the draw is sewn tight so that the biner doesn't flip but does not have the rubber catch that more expensive draws have. The bolt clipping biner is extremely loose in the sling and flips a lot which can sometimes be a nuisance. You won't find a better value anywhere. (Mondy asked for some pictures, no they aren't too shiny)

      Solid draws for cheap!

thanks for the photo. and the quick review.

      Great pack , great price!!

It´s a great pack. It Works very well!!!

can you post actual photos of the biners? the one displayed in BC seems a bit too shiny. thanks.

Eh Mondy, picture posted above. They are a pretty standard aluminum finish, not too shiny.

They are good for the price, but the biners are small and somewhat stiff compared to Black Diamonds I've climbed on. This makes it a little bit harder to get your clip, which can be frustrating when you are stuck at an awkward lock off 60 feet up, but hey -- resistance training.
