For ladies who live to give a little love to the liquid.

At ten feet long and just 34 pounds, the Ocean Kayak Venus 10 Sit-On-Top Kayak was designed for women who are small in stature but big on love for the water. Ocean Kayak took design feedback from female paddlers and placed the seat well lower in the boat in order to accommodate a woman's center of gravity, and gave the Venus a Comfort Hybrid seat that's especially comfortable and efficient for the ladies. Along with a rear tank well and bungee system, there's also a specially-designed car-topping handle system that makes it easy to load the Venus up and head to the water, and a drain plug so you don't bring any lake water home with you.

First Kayak!

We bought this for my girlfriend for recreational use and it's worked out great. I'm definitely happy with our sit-on-top decision as these are our first recreational kayaks. The seat is comfortable and both Its handles and bungees are well positioned. There's some interesting trade-offs between this and the Terta 10. There could be more storage but it works for our day use (the Tetra has a larger rear tankwell and a bow hatch). The Tetra's pedal track are nice but not essential. The Venus' weight is most notable (34 versus 51 pounds) and I think it was the right choice for her.

Does the Venus 10 have a beverage holder?

    Hi Amy,

The Venus 10 does not have a beverage holder. It's big sister the Venus 11 does though.

What length kayak is recommended for a person 5'6"? 140 lbs?

Is this kayak 10 feet long? I am moving to Northern California and want to use it for the ocean (not too far out) and the lakes in the area like Tahoe. I read I should have 20 foot long kayak. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your expertise!

    Deb,

This sit-on-top kayak is 9 ft 10 inches long.

Most sea kayaks are between 10-20 ft long, but those are sit-in boats with cockpits where you are seated much lower, and with a very different hull shape.

Feel free to reach out if you want some help finding the right boat-- I'd be glad to help.

I've been shopping around online for kayaks. I found that this is the yak for me. I would rather go for quality for my first kayak. But when I order this kayak how long will it take to get to me? I'm in California.

    Priscilla,

Freight shipping usually takes between 7-10 business days, depending on which of our warehouses the boat ships from.

    Perfect Women's Boat

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this boat for my wife last year, and it was her first sit on top kayak. She absolutely loves it. I did my research and found that this boat was designed specifically for women; it's not just a generic kayak scaled down. It's light enough for her to put up on the car by herself and has a lower deck profile that she likes. I think this is a great fit for any woman that's looking for a fun boat.

How tall is the seat back and is it comfortable? I am fairly tall and have some problems with my back (I am 64) and so Nanyang of the sit in kayaks have low seat backs that are too hard for my back

    Paddle included?

    Paddle included?

    Hey Eimile,

    Thanks for your question.

There is not a paddle included with this kayak. You can check out the paddles we have on the site from the link I have provided below.
