Norrona Roldal Gore-Tex Insulated Pant - Men's

Built for Norwegian ski resorts high up in the mountains.

The Norrona Men's Roldal Gore-Tex Insulated Pant blends innovative technologies into a sweet freerider style. Gore-Tex gives this ski pant reliable waterproof, breathable protection that sheds snowfall and spray to keep you comfortably dry. Primaloft Silver insulation offers superior softness and breathability for warmth that won't leave you too hot on the downhill, and it helps the pant compress down to nothing and maintain a light weight.

Norrona also equipped the Roldal with long zippers outside each thigh for ventilated airflow in case you get too warm. You can access the boot gaiters through the ankle zippers, and each gaiter features hook-and-loop straps for a secure fit. Norrona's Custom-fit waist system uses tabs that help keep your pants on. There's a Zip-seal system that zips into compatible ski jackets from Norrona. is Norrona's exclusive retailer in the states, meaning you'll be one of the few to rock these stylish pants at the resort.

Really good

I've had these for 3 or 4 seasons now. They are my go to pant. They are warm, very water resistant and the pockets are good. The vents are mesh lined which I appreciate. Now I say 3 season but that is only 10-30 days a year. They have started to tear along the vent zippers. This is 100% just weak stitching on a stress area. However the bottom cuff has never frayed and they haven't had any holes in them despite lots of tree hits. The lining has never come out for me. I just washed them and re waterproofed them and they look almost brand new. The lining is down. It's light but warm. On sale they are a fantastic pic.

Was specifically looking for pant, jacket that zip together, and that leaves only a few options, and This is what I went with. Super happy with my choice. I was concerned that there would be too much insulation and they would be too warm for activities like touring and such, but the insulation is quite light; the perfect amount to cut out the chill. pro: prefect amount of insulation, zips to norrona jacket (I have the tamok), mesh lined vents, relitively quiet, fit, style. cons: (this is my usual rant about most snow pants, no deal breakers on this pant, just recommendations for when norrona does a redesign) no full length side zip (nice for putting on pant with boots on), could use fully waterproof, grippy butt (like a heavy fishing rain jacket), same for knees.

Overall super happy with my purchase, ordered a large (6'1", 190 lb, average build) and these run true to size. Used these up in AK for backcountry touring, resort riding, snowmachining, etc.

This is a great snowboard pant...I have 7 days of use in Montana...0%-30s...These are impressive, tough, warm pants...There are no big pockets like the Rodal un-insulated pant...Simple, traditional...I am 100% stoked on the quality, fit, style and durability of this company...

The Norrøna Roldal Gore-Tex Insulated Pant is top notch! You get the Norrona quality, with a super comfortable fit. Got a slight hole in one pocket, but nothing super glue couldn't fit. They are really warm, I wouldn't recommend using these on a spring ski day. Filled with cool features, you can't go wrong with these pants. Highly recommended..

UPDATE: after using these for a week in the Canadian Rockies, I noticed the Prima Loft was starting to leak through the interior liner. Every time I took the pants off, I noticed bits of material on my base layer and socks. After speaking with Norrona's customer services, they agree this should not happen, but at $550 I am not willing to take the risk again. Sending these back for a refund.

If you are looking for a do-it-all pant, that stops just short of a pure shell pant for the back country, this is the one. Just the right amount of insulation, great venting side zippers, and well laid out pockets.

These pants have worked well from the single digits all the way up into the high 20's without the need for a pair of thermals. The outer fabric is very durable and has already survived some run ins with ropes, trees, and ski edges without showing a single sign of wear. The DWR combined with Gore-Tex has made these perfect for shielding you from the elements.

I typically wear a size 32 x 32 pair of jeans, and the size medium fits beautifully. The waist band leaves plenty of room for tucking in base layers and a fleece jacket - not to mention the slick zip in jacket to pant interface.

Just make sure you pick these up while you can - at $175 a pair, the customs tax makes bringing this in direct for Norrona an un welcome surprise.

I wore this pant around the city in 11F it felt perfectly warm. It is more bulky than I would like, perhaps after a few wash it will be less bulky. The quality of the pant definitely stood out, it feels like brush fabric it is not coarse on the hand. This year there isn't any snow in the Northeast yet, so didn't have any chance to test out in the snow yet. It blocks out the wind better than my Black Diamond Induction pant and warmer than my Marker Moment insulated pant.

This pant would definitely good for those windy and cold day, where you need the warm and the protection.

Update: With winter storm Jonas just hit the east coast, putting the Norrona to the test. It dries up much quicker than some of my gore-tex jacket and I was up against 40mph wind gust and 2 feet+ of snow I was immune to the element. Was outside shoveling snow for 3 hours nothing can go through the pant.
