Norrona Lyngen Lightweight Down Jacket - Men's
NorronaLyngen Lightweight Down Jacket - Men's

Warmth without the buzz.

The Men's Lyngen Lightweight Down Jacket is Norrona's lightest, most packable puffy. Weighing just under 12 ounces, the Lyngen offers high point warmth at a weight less than that flask that has a way of finding itself inside your pack. Its 750-fill down insulation offers on-demand warmth and compresses down tight, allowing the jacket to be stored in one of the hand pockets when you're on the move. Unlike a lot of down jackets, the hood on the Lyngen can be adjusted, so you won't have to deal with it getting blown around in the wind. The hem can be cinched down when its really cold out and the bound cuffs help trap extra heat and eliminate cold drafts.

Super Warm

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This jacket is VERY warm, especially considering how light it is. I have a more athletic build and this jacket fits just right. The fabric is very supple and comfortable against the skin, and there is microfiber around the cuffs and top of the zipper.

Wear this all the time

5 stars as this has become my go to. Warm and so lightweight. Only criticism of norrona is sizing seems to differ by piece so I had to order a medium and large and see which worked (the medium did). Love it now though.

    Gearing up

    Gearing up

    Not worth the money

      1. Duck down instead of goose down 2. Continuously loose feather. 3. Quite expensive (think of mountain equipment, rab). 4. Fragile Although I'm big fan of Norrona, I still have to give one star only, sorry but Norrona shall have done better.

      Zipper too weak !

      • Size Bought: Medium

After a couple of months the zipper broke. A bad quality craftmanship

      Unanswered Question

How does this compares to Cerium LT?
I see that Norrona use 170gm of 750 down (vs 100gm of 850 down + coreloft). Arc'teryx will be a tad lighter, but which one is warmer? How does face fabric compares between those two?

      Great Jacket

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: small

Bought this Jacket and loved it from the first minute. Very warm and extremely light. Fits perfect under Shell Jacket and packs well.
Watch out: The Jacket runs large. I usually wear medium but this jacket I bought in small for a perfect fit. Would buy it anytime again.

      Great jacket for backpacking

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

This jacket has a great hood, fantastic blocking wind as well. If you layer correctly it is the perfect jacket for backpacking over other layers. I would not pay the $360 price but I was happy with it at $165!

      Light and Packable Down Jacket

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

The Norrona Lyngen Lightweight Down Jacket is the lightest and most packable jacket in their line. This is a great do-it-all down jacket that I've been wearing by itself most days, and under a shell on the super-cold days. It like how it stashes into its own pocket, which makes it super easy to stuff in my backpack when I'm not using it. The face fabric is extremely light, as is the case with all lightweight/high-warmth jackets like this - personally, I haven't had any issues with mine and I've had it about 12 months. Great fit, true to size and the Ocean Swell Color is even better in person.

you have the super diaz at the same weight do these jackets compare in warmth thanks for your time

      Three and a half stars.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

First off, I really really really like the fit, look and weight of this jacket. I'm 6'1", have wide shoulders, and a longer torso. The XL fits me perfectly and even has a little length to spare, without being drafty and loose fitting.

For an expensive coat, from a reputable outerwear manufacturer, the outside fabric is paper thin. I have no clue how a slit in the face fabric happened, but now I'm pretty scared that it could happen again at any moment. Also, I'm a Minnesotan, who lives in Utah. Utah Falls and Winters are not that cold...However I still get quite cold in this coat, even on an evening in the mid 30's. My Arc'teryx Atom SV is considerably warmer and has withstood much more abuse, and still looks presentable.

Pros: Looks great, fits great, and is light weight.
Cons: flimsy face fabric and not as warm as described or appears.

I agree, the material is super thin - in order for this jacket to be so lightweight, that's a necessary sacrifice. Your Arcteryx Atom SV is understandably more durable, as the "SV" stands for "Severe", and is built to handle severe conditions and wear. This is, after all, Norrona's lightest and most packable down jacket - more comparable to the Arcteryx Cerium LT (Lightweight) Hooded Down Jacket in terms of face fabric, warmth and weight.
