Backcountry lover's delight.

If you enjoy hiking to the top as much as you love skiing down, then the Norrona Men's Lyngen Driflex3 Jacket was made for you. It combines the waterproof capabilities of a hardshell with the stretch and breathability of a softshell to keep you comfortable whether you're headed up or down.

Driflex3 fabric shields you from the wettest storms while offering the flexibility needed to tour, hike, and ski comfortably. It's also highly breathable to keep you from overheating on grueling treks and features Cocona technology to help it dry rapidly. Zippered underarm vents rapidly release excess heat to keep you from getting bogged down with heat-robbing sweat when you're climbing a steep skintrack.

You can attach the Lyngen to your Norrona pants using the Zip-Seal system to create a barrier that keeps snow out on the deepest powder days. The storm hood shields your face from the elements without interfering with your vision, and it's helmet-compatible so you can stay safe while you shred. Stretch wrist gaiters keep snow from getting up your sleeves, and multiple pockets with water-resistant zippers secure everyday essentials such as snacks, maps, or your smartphone.

Just breathe !

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I have had a lot of shells over the years and this on is by far the best. It's the first waterproof breathable shell that I can honestly say actually breathes. No swampiness while you're wearing this thing.

The Norrona Website says this jacket has a powder skirt, but Backcountry says it doesn't.... which is correct?
Thanks,
Curtis

Hey Curtis - The Lyngen Driflex3 Jacket does have a powder skirt as part of the Snap seal system. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

I am 6'0, 180lbs, longish torso.
Size suggestion please.
At times will have mid-layer underneath for sure.
Thank you,
Tom

Hi Thomas,

I'm about the same size/weight as you and wear a medium in everything. If you'd like a clean trim fit, then go medium. For a baggier feel, try a large.

The cut of this jacket will allow you to wear a layer underneath, even in size medium.

Excellent Ski Mountaineering Jacket

Norrona designed the Lyngen Driflex3 jacket for ski mountaineering - it's waterproof and breathable like a hardshell and durable and stretchy like a softshell. Norrona' s driflex3 material is also windproof, so although it's a reasonably light jacket, it will provide maxium protection from the elements, including wind. I really like the long, front ventilation zipper for dumping heat on the way up without having to unbuckle my pack in order to unzip my jacket. The fit here is quite standard, true to size.
