Great but with one issue
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Don’t often leave reviews but was so I impressed with this pant. These were a revelation after using a Flylow shell pant for years. First the fit it better then any of the other brands I tried, particularly if you are in the slim side. Secondly, they are amazingly comfortable and light. Almost feel like nothing at all and this is highest compliment one can give to any gear. I was wary about an insulated pant as bulky unwieldy and not great for active movement but boy was I wrong on this is issue. These are almost invisible on wear and the slight insulation for am chairs is amazing . I didn’t have the issue about the zipper others mentioned. So there is only one bug to report but it’s a BIG ONE. These wetted out after an hour or so Isnow on the second days use. Resulted in some very clammy and uncomfortable rides in the both rear end and thighs. Not good for a top tier product….and a bummer on a powder day. Not sure if my pair has some daft dwr or that that this version does not have the dwr ability of prior potentially more environmentally harsh generations of products. But I have never had this issue on other brands of pants from competitors. I’ll try some spray on dwr from nikwax grangers reviver etc., but disappointed on this issue when buying this level and tier of product…..if this does not correct the issue I’ll be an unhappy camper…

Great but......
High quality, great fit, perfect insulated weight and features but............there is a major, I mean major flaw. At the very top of the waistband is an exposed zipper around the circumference of the waist. It’s the highest point of the pant. My guess it’s for an add-on bib feature. However think of your favorite pair of jeans and then sew on a zipper to the very top so that it sits against your waistline. Imaging skiing and hiking all day with that zipper either against your tucked in baselayer or your skin. That described these pants.
