Great ski jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: large

I bought this to replace an older Marmot soft-shell that didn't provide much protection from the wind on the slopes. I tried several other jackets from Columbia and OR but struggled on sizing as their larges were to big and the mediums were too small. This large Norrona is perfect for my 5'11 185lb frame. The pockets are ample and in all of the right places. The hood can be a little intrusive when not in use but really not an issue considering all of the other benefits. Highly recommend.

Great for the slopes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

Everything about the jacked is excellent. I have enjoyed it the past few weeks while skiing. Great pockets in the right places and very warm.

Another amazing piece from Norrona

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

I have been looking for a jacket to replace my old Marmot Trient. Wanted one that was waterproof, windproof, with good flexible GoreTex Shell. Keys features that I was looking for beside those were attached hood, chest and interior pockets with 100g insulation. This has it all plus wrist gaiters so, the wind and snow don't creep into the sleeve. The wind can't cut through this baby. The shell is very durable, waterproof, and will stand up to most encounters. Love the 2 chest pockets with a google wipe :). Hood is helmet compatable and can be used w/o one as well to cover/shield you from the elements. The fit is typical of Norrona - broard through the shoulders, long arms then tapers down in the waist/hip area. I'm 5'5 115lbs with broad shoulders, 30DD chest and slim through hips/butt. I got a men's small which works great. The hips/butt area provide a nice snug fit to keep the wind/snow out when not using the skirt, but are not too restrictive. For reference, I have an Arcteryx Sidewinder in men's small which is considerably roomier/relax fit compared to the Lofoton which is more athletic fit. I use the Sidewinder for skiing in the really nasty weather because its shell is more durable, but it tenders to be stiff. The Lofoten is not as stiff and tends to move a little better so, have been wearing it skiing in the mid to high 30s with 200 base layer. Also, use it for around town when in the 30s or below (with Arcteryx Cerium Lt vest and base layer underneath. Loving this jacket the more I wear it.

Awesome!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: medium

Love it! Runs a bit small but it has some stretch. Super warm. Hoodie fits over helmet . Great product!

Is it durable? I had an earlier version that would tear super easy.
