With the beastily Women's Falketind Gore-Tex Jacket from Norrona in your corner, tackling the trail through a downpour, skiing in a blizzard, or setting the route while your hair gets whipped around are child's play. This is Norrona's most versatile all-season jacket. Three rugged layers of Gore-Tex make quick work of inclement weather, wrapping your core in guaranteed waterproof, guaranteed breathable protection. Moisture vapor gets whisked away before it can bead up on your skin so you rarely get that clammy, shivery feeling associated with drying sweat. The regular fit allows for layering underneath

Seams and zippers aren't security threats thanks to Gore seam tape and water-resistant zips. An adjustable storm hood and drawcord hem seal you off from nasty weather, while long underarm vents help you regulate temperature when you're hunkered down or hard at work. Hook-and-loop tabs on the asymmetrical cuffs help this weather-beating demon play nicely with your gloves and mittens. Norrona even engineered the pockets to sit above your backpack hip belt or climbing harness, keeping essentials easily within reach during your alpine endeavors.

Very well made jacket and lovely color. I bought it for skiing. However the XS I ordered does not allow layering. Too bad .

I wear this jacket over the Norrona Falketind Warm 1 Fleece and it's the perfect combo. It keeps you warm and dry in all weather conditions. A lot of reviews say the jacket runs small but I found it to be true to fit. I got a size small in both the fleece and jacket.

Exactly what I wanted

I needed a waterPROOF shell, and ordered both this jacket and an Arc'teryx Beta SL shell. I kept the Norrona over the Arc'teryx for a few reasons........ It has pit zips, bigger pockets and an internal pocket, and a better hood than the Arc'teryx did. I also liked the longer and wider sleeves on the Norrona, and it truly has kept me bone dry in downpours.
If you're looking to use it as a winter shell also, or if your in between sizes, I would size up. I am usually a size small, but went with the medium for this so I could layer and use it all year and it was a good choice even if the sleeves are a little bit long. I love this jacket!

Size up

I ordered for my step daughter. Excellent quality. Runs very small. We had to exchange for a larger size so keep in mind when layering. Overall though very stylish and functional.

    Size-up and use for skiing

I'm normally a small, but I got this in a large and use it as my ski jackets. It's a little lighter weight than your average ski jacket, so you have to layer under it. I love it - light weight and the wrist cuffs easily fit over your gloves! Good looking coat.

      Pretty cool!

I ordered this jacket for my sister. By the way the picture looks, I thought it was RED. It is definitely ORANGE. This is ok but she was looking for a red jacket. All in all she loves it. For colder days, she wears a down sweater due to it not being an insulated jacket. Great quality!!

      A little smaller than expected

We love the jacket, but it was a little smaller than expected. I had to return it and order a large. Regardless, it's a great looking jacket!

Will this coat work as a technical shell for winter days skiing alta and snowbird on the coldest windiest of days with good layering

      Hi Lawrence,

I have thought about this many times and personally I'd say its a bit too short for skiing. I'd go with something that's a bit more heavy duty than this jacket too.

If you are looking for a great shell to ski in Little Cottonwood, check out the Arcteryx Alpha SV. Its what I wear touring and at the bird. Ive had it for 2 years and it still looks brand new.

      Great Jacket

This is my first Norrna jacket and I am very pleased. As a taller woman (6'), this is the first jacket I have ever owned that truly fit me in the arms. As others have noted, it does run very slim, but this made it work very well when wearing packs - no bunching with or without layers underneath. It kept me dry throughout a week of (wet) camping in Alaska - and I got compliments on the jacket the entire week. My only complaint is that I had to readjust the velcro on the wrists as they didn't tend to stay especially well.

Hi Amella, could you share what size fits you? Thank you!

      Very waterproof

I use this jacket in torrential downpours and it keeps me dry. I use it in combo with a wool or cashmere sweater when it's especially windy and cold.

A few critiques, though - the hood fits neither under nor over a bicycle helmet very well. For someone who's slim, the sleeves are really long and clunky to adjust. I wish the inside pocket were big enough to fit a wallet or phone more comfortably.

I got the orange and I also wish it didn't stain so easily, but I got mud and grease on it from a couple of crazy rides, and it looks like those marks are here to stay.

        Great shell

This is shell is great! It fits true to size, the arm length runs long and the fit is flattering. I live in SE Alaska and we have been hammered with snow and rain, and this shell is a lifesaver. I wear several layers underneath and stay warm and dry. The construction of the jacket is top quality, and light. Don't know how I lived without it!!! :)
