Lookout 40L Backpack

As life gets busier and busier, you find fewer chances to explore the mountains, but you can still manage an overnighter every now and then. Lucky for you, overnighters require little to no gear; just pack your bivvy, backpacking stove, and a day's worth of food in the Mountainsmith Lookout Backpack and find some peace in a grassy cirque. Mountainsmith made this pack's back panel, shoulder straps, and waist belt out of padded mesh to keep you comfy so you can trek for miles.

  • Lightweight backpack for minimalist overnighters
  • Padded back panel, shoulder straps, and waist belt for a comfy ride
  • Traditional top loader with secondary sleeping bag compartment
  • Front zippered pocket, side pockets, and webbing loops for storage
  • Side compression straps secure the load for a stable hike

Good bag. but......

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Its a very good bag for the price. However, there are some issues.
1. Taking out water bottle from the side sleeves is extremely difficult unless you bag is empty and you are carrying water bottles only.
2. very few pockets.

Great Backpack

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I spent a lot of time looking for a good pack that I could take on a week long camping trip for a good price. I found this one and it was amazing. The side front pocket opens easily on the go. It seems to be great quality. I've taken it on a few camp outs and it's still good as new. It does seem to be kind of slim which makes it hard to fit a sleeping bag inside the pack but one can easily be attached to the outside on the bottom. It has a lot of great features. Would recommend it.
