Why We Like The Stretch Ozonic Pant

Leave the Mountain Hardwear Women's Stretch Ozonic Pant at the top of your pack just in case you run into rain mid-hike. Its Dry.Q Active 2.5L Stretch shell combines a highly rated waterproof breathable membrane with four-way stretch fabric so you can still move and stay dry on the trail. Fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing rain from seeping through.

Mountain Hardwear designed the Stretch Ozonic with articulated knees to enhance the pant's range of motion on steep ascents. Full-length side zippers offer easy on-and-off when you're out and about, and loops at each cuff accommodate boot laces for extra security. Best Rain Pants

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These rain pants are the perfect shell. With a base layer underneath, they don't even feel like rain pants due to the stretch and soft fabric. A definite step up from standard noisy rain pants. I took these with me on a summit climb of Mt. Rainier this past summer and they performed great in light drizzle and winds.

Breathable, but not waterproof

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I do like these pants, I'm 5'10 & 140lbs and I got an xs-long. They fit beautifully, I'd recommend going with one size up if you want to layer the pants with anymore more than a pair of shorts or leggings, though. I wanted a more flattering fit, and thats exactly what I got. I ordered the small as well to try, and they also fit wonderfully. The pants are super easy to take on and off and great for protection from the wind. I didn't do a rain hike, but I did sit in a puddle on accident and it immediately soaked through the pants and to my leggings. So I would not call them waterproof by any means and for that reason I would recommend perhaps finding something more waterproof (as these are more so water resistant, which is how they are advertised) for a better price. Again, love the way they feel, fit, how easy they are to take on & off, how lightweight they are. But for the price, I'd like something a bit more waterproof/resistant. I don't expect them to stay dry if I jump into a pool, but I would imagine they would give me a minute or two of protection from sitting on a puddle.

Quality.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Really impressed with these pants. Great quality. Material is soft, allowing for ease of movement. Light weight, not bulky or limiting at all. Not insulated but can easily fit long underwear under them. Great for wind and rain. I'm a size 7-8, 5'4 and these fit perfect around the waist and in the length..

Good Quality, Fits Large, Unrestricted Movement

I purchased this pant for ultra running mountain events. I ran in it twice thus far. I like the stretch - there was no restriction in movement/motion. I also like that it has the full zip which allowed the sides to be opened to let air in under light rain / drizzling. The leg pocket is nicely place and is handy of a small storage. Overall, I find that much of MHW products fit big. However, their products generally have great length in the arms and legs for taller individuals. At 5'10" around 140 lbs, I take XS, Long in this pant.

The stretch is wonderful!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love the stretch of this pants. I cycle a lot and in rainy Vancouver I need a good shell to commute to and from work all winter on my bike. These pants are comfortable and don't stick too much to the leg while I cycle. I just wish they had a cord at the bottom to make them more fit but I love the pants.

Awesome Rain pant

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Cons: I generally wear a M in most things, but I measured myself twice and the sizing chart said I would be an XL. I was surprised to say the least! But I ordered an XL and L to check. The XL was swimming on me and came out several inches from my stomach. The Large was a great fit. PROS: I have larger thighs and a voluptuous bottom. They are roomy and will not constrain movement. We are a very active family and I love the exterior feel of these pants. The outside feel is just like my quick dry quide pants that dry fast when traversing a river. The inside has a waterproofing material that is still breathable. When walking they are not loud and crunchy as most rain pants I've owned in the past have been.

Great rain pants!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought these pants for heading to Haida Gwaii later this year and have been putting them through their paces to see if they deserve a space in my luggage. Yes! They fit well and with the full zip legs and zippered fly they are super easy to put on and take off. They are incredibly light weight and roll up into a little bundle. Which means they'll make the cut on those days when I'm not sure I'm trying to decide whether not to take them along 'just incase'. They are super comfy! The stretchy and light weight material mean I hardly know I'm wearing rain pants. I can see myself wearing these pants for both rainy days and windy days.

I really like these rainpants!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I am really happy with these rainpants. As a result of the stretch I went to one size smaller than normal. So they are pretty fitted but due to the stretch they feel great with no restrictions movement wise (also articulated knees). Since it rains in Victoria all winter I have been wearing the pants in town too and to work - they tend to look pretty polished and clean cut - not like I am wearing rainpants in town. So they bridge outdoor and city use well. I find I don't need to use the side zips to pull the pants on and off over regular shoes but of course they are essential when using hiking boots.

Dry Comfort

I got these pants on the strength of the Ozonic jacket's ability to keep me protected from the elements in both comfort and style. The pants have utility to them with the side zippers running the whole way top to bottom and are reinforced with a snap button at either end. The waist snaps and belt loops are handy as well. The thigh pocket adds some storage although I have yet to use it. Just like the jacket these pants offer 4 way stretch which is valuable when your moving about to not be constricted by your clothing. The Dry Q keeps you dry and is quite breathable. In the sense of length they're perfect with a pair of hiking boots on.

Great Rain Pant

Fit: I am 135 pounds, 5"4. I got these in a medium as I planed to layer lots underneath. They're definitely roomy enough to put a lot under, so if you want a slimmer fit, get your typical size. I would have usually got a small, but wanted to layer. Function: I love these pants. They are the first waterproof pants I've had that have the right stretch quality. Typically with your goretex pant you're looking at a certain level of stiffness that is not so comfortable. These are the perfect rain pant in my opinion. They also have zippers down the entire side of each leg which is awesome for ripping them off after long muddy wet excursions.
