Why We Like The Rhea Ridge Hooded Jacket

From early morning sunrise photography at the Grand Canyon to evenings around the campfire, Mountain Hardwear’s Rhea Ridge Jacket stands up to the desert chill. The water- and abrasion-resistant shell has our back (and front) when your day hike gets technical, or the unpredictable fall weather takes a turn for the worse. Highly compressible, the Rhea Ridge stows in our day pack so we're happily prepared wherever we wander. When our itinerary takes us through Santa Fe for some fine dining, and plaza shopping, we fit right in. Streamlined stitching and a sleek baffle give a flattering silhouette whether touring towns or hitting the trail.

  • A streamlined down jacket for shoulder-season adventures
  • 600-fill down insulation keeps warm on cold city outings
  • DWR treated nylon ripstop fabric stands up to the elements
  • Two zippered hand pockets keep fingers toasty on brisk day-hikes
  • Droptail hem and hood offer extra coverage for extra cold sightseeing
  • Relaxed fit layers effortlessly over bulky midlayers for sunrise viewing

Wrong item

Like the other person I ordered black and got grey. I’m sure the color grey isn’t called “void”. They send the wrong item and I have to pay to send it back. Not great.

Ordered black, received a gray coat?

    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Small

I ordered the black color so it wouldn't become too obviously dirty too quickly (like my last puffy) and I got a gray jacket... I'm not sure if the colors were not displayed properly on the website or what, but I'm not stoked about it. I'm not sure what they mean regarding the draw string and elastic cuff, both of those are missing.
All around the description and pictures are misleading. It suffices as a jacket, but just be mindful that what you see (and read) will not be what you get.

    Details are Misleading

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small

This jacket does not have an adjustable drawcord hem which it indicates. This fits well enough, but the details are misleading. The cuffs on the wrist, although elastic, may as well not be there at all since it is just as loose as if they hadn't added that feature. I am a size small, and I would emphasize that this is a relaxed fit, and definitely is not a tailored fit. It does the job if you're just looking for around the town, or walks in chilly weather.

    How to Measure:
All measurements correspond to equivalent body measurements, not the dimensions of the garment. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
    Bust:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
    Sleeve:
Have a friend measure from the center of your back to your wrist.
    Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
    Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
    Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
