wanted to love them, but too big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: S

I have a pair of dynama ankle pants and love them, so I was excited to add another pair of Mountain Hardwear pants to my adventure kit. I love the colors of these pants, the zigzaggy pattern, and especially the tulip cuff hem! Unfortunately, though, the relaxed cut was a little too big for me - fit similarly around the waistband and hips as the dynama for me, but I was swimming in fabric in the hip/pelvic/butt area and they were a little too long to move comfortably. As a side note, too, these pants are "louder" than the dynama - the fabric feels a little more nylon-ish or closer to running shorts than the dynama, which has a bit more of a fabric-ish feel to me (I think that means these would be a little more water resistant). I'm 5'4", 120lbs, pretty straight/athletic build.

Great climbing pants

    Durable yet stretchy, great pant

    She Wont Stop braggin!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

My wife really is an outdoorsy girl. I said in previous post that she is hard to shop for and picky and every time i get her fishing/hiking gearI usually mess it up! But not with these! She absolutely loves these and broke them in real good on our hiking trip to Moab. She got several compliments on the trail and had to brag a bit about how much she loved them. We hike to the arch and back. I got lucky this time, or maybe its just the great quality and function of the Mountain Hardwear Railay Ankle Pant - Women's !

    Cute pants, wrong fit!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: XS

I have 3 pairs of the Mountain Hardwear Dynama ankle pants and LOVE them and the fit. I thought these would be a similar fit but unfortunately they are not, they are big and were pretty baggy on me. I am 5'1 and weigh 115lbs and got an XS. I got the Zinc color and it is SO cute, the design of the zigzag lines is super unique and the fabric is lightweight and has good movement, would be a perfect all around pant that I would use casually as well as for climbing. I wanted to keep these pants but the fit was the only reason why I returned them.

    How to Measure:
All measurements correspond to equivalent body measurements, not the dimensions of the garment. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
    Bust:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
    Sleeve:
Have a friend measure from the center of your back to your wrist.
    Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
    Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
    Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
