YES, these are my new go to pant!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34X34

You can do anything in these pants, go out and crush some stone and then go out to a formal dinner date after. Mountain Hardwear killed it with these. Incredible fit, modern through hip to knees. Straight, but not too slim from knees to the ankles. I wear a 34 and they fit my waist perfect. I bought the 34 length because I like them longer and rolled, but for reference I think the 32 length would be great too. great snap rollups on the bottom, and the secret pockets are aweswome and in the best spots, also very deep. no matter how dirty or wet I get, 5 minutes later you can't even tell and they look freshly washed again, very stretchy and breathable. Once you start you get them all, I have them in almost every color now haha.

New Favorite Pants!

These are my new favorite pants! They stretch well, they have a nice slim-fit style but are cut well and have a really nice feel. The thigh pocket is clutch! It fits my iphone 6 perfect, it is also low enough that it sits below a harness leg loop. The zippered back pockets are great, and I really like the style of the snap roll up legs. It's the Stretch Zion Pant but better! Already have bought them in multiple colors.

Very nice pants

Good fit. Love the color, although it has a little less orange tint then the picture indicates. Material is good and durable. Less flexible then Under Armor Chinos that have a similar fit. I prefer the comfort of the Under Armor, but still highly recommend.

    Great, but not perfect

I tend to wear climbing/hiking pants everyday and my girlfriend hates it, with one exception, these pants. They fit great and are a good looking comfortable pant to wear every day. However, my only gripe is that they are a tad restrictive when going for those high feet on the climb, or sitting cross-legged, but what you give up in freedom, is made up in style.

    Unanswered Question

Is the peatmoss color more of a brown or dark green?

Do you like going to a brewery after a long hike? Me too! These pants are stylish and extremely versatile for all kinds of activities. I am a tall slender build and these pants very much the same. They have a skinny style, built for riding your fixie around town! I really enjoy the snaps and the reflectors for rolling them up, whether I am riding my bike or trying to be a little more granola than I really am! This is my second pair of and I'm even temped to buy a 3rd! Can't recommend them more.

Best pair of pants I've ever worn

I have a spectacularly small waist and longish legs so it is always a challenge to find properly fitting pants. These are hands down the most comfortable and well fitting pants I have ever found. I wear a pair of these pants almost every day to class and to work and have also worn them multiple times doing field work and hiking. I could not be more pleased with their durability and comfort. One small side note: They have started to wear a little on the back pocket where my wallet usually sits but it's not a big deal, they also have loosened a little bit around the knees. However, I have worn the pair almost daily for ~8 months so it is to be expected.

I have a solution to your gripes: buy a pair for every day of the week bro... ;))

These nicely fitted, durable pants can be used for anything from hiking to camping and even out to dinner. They feature versatile pockets and also buttons near the ankle so if you want to roll them up, the cuff will stay in place.

I stumbled onto these about a year ago and have worn them more than any pair of paints I've owned ever since.
I climb and backpack mostly, and they're perfect for that. They stretch, dry quick, are tough and weigh next to nothing. The additional leg pocket is great for a climbing brush, knife or phone.
I've tried so many other pairs of pants but have been disappointed in the fit, but these couldn't be better. I will be buying another pair soon just to have them in a different color!

One pant to rule them all

Camping, biking, climbing, chilling, dancing, bowling and even golf. You can bring this pant into so many situations you're going to end up donating the rest of your lower wardrobe to Goodwill. If the fellowship of the ring would have had these pants, they would have slam dunked the ring into Mount Doom like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Best title for a review ever!!!

      Killer pants for everyday wear

I've been wearing these pants for several months and they are awesome. My Patagonia performance fit jeans take precedence, but these are a close second.

These are stretchy, have a tailored fit but with a rugged look. They are suitable for work - I work in manufacturing - and I am on my feet a lot of the day, up and down, under machines, etc. and these hold up quite well with my Iron Rangers. The snaps by the ankles kind of gives them away as technical pants, but a lot of people don't notice.

After work, I head to the climbing gym where I swap my polo out for a t-shirt and my boots out for Katanas, roll the ankles - here is where the snaps come in handy - and am able to climb for hours. I don't prefer to climb in pants indoors, but I can, and that's what matters.

On the weekends I head into the woods with my dog where we'll hike anywhere between 5-10 miles in a day on typical east coast mountainous terrain. Mostly earthy, some elevation, and occasional scrambling. Still, these are great. Again, shorts would be preferred in warmer weather, but if it's chilly out (I am comfortable in these and a t-shirt in the low 50's, while moving), these are the pants to wear.

The back pockets look kinda weird with zippers, but I like functionality. Same with the stash pocket on the leg.

Overall, excellent technical pants with a casual look that can be used cross-functionally all day long.

      Rad freakin pants

Bought 2 pair just going off the reviews on here, do not regret it at all. Fits really well, a little slimmer fit than most, but they work as casual work pants or outdoor all day'ers. Fits true to size - I'm 6'2 185 and wear 34's --- 34/34 fit perfect. I regret not buying them in the Peatmoss color while they had my size. I will have my eye out for them when they restock! Buy these.

      Seriously...

Seriously, these are best pants I have owned. They a true their fit, extremely flexible, and quite versatile. I work on the docks in Alaska 12-16 hours a day. I have owned these pants for couple weeks and they put up with the wear and tear of work while feeling better than my usual relaxwear. It was 70* F last week and 45* today, never felt the difference in my legs while wearing these. Stop reading this review and buy a pair.

      Casual style with serious performance

Want a pair of pants that does it all? These pants offer great styling with tons of functionality.

The slim fit and sleek design makes these pants at home in your favorite pub, restaurant, or bar. To top this they also breath well, dry fairly quickly, and are super durable. You can spend all day hiking or climbing at your favorite crag and you won't regret wearing these. The slim fit and snap up cuffs makes them ideal for commuting to and from work or weekend activities. Snag a pair and you'll be ready for any task at hand.

I find they run true to size. I wear a 34/32 in most pants and these fit perfectly.

      My Absolute Favorite Pants

Hands down, these are my favorite pants for every day use. These are great pants for work or play - they are durable enough to stand up to any outdoor adventure, but look clean enough to wear out for a night on the town. My favorite aspect of the AP Pant is the fit - they have a great fit through the legs and run very true to size. With a wide range of waist and inseam combos, it isn't hard to find a perfect fit. I love the cell phone pocket on the right thigh, and appreciate the zippers on the back pockets for keeping a wallet safe and secure. They wash well and I haven't noticed any fading after lots of use. Solid!

Just a great pair of pants.

Simply put these are a great pair of pants. Slimmer profile, nice cell phone pocket on the thigh, that is likely more of a knife pocket when in the wild. Breathable, good movement and solid construction. This is a great pant for mountain town evening concerts where the temps cool off after a scorching day, or like I do, to the office when the AC is blasting, but it is 100 outside and you need to meet the demands of both. I am sure that these pants will withstand the rigors of outdoor use and a true camp/hike weekend as well. I have washed mine a handful of times and the color has stayed true. Highly recommend for the urban or modern gentleman who get's out in the high alpine or just the local scene. I am 5'10", 165, normal waist is 32. My 32's are perfect.

These were my first pair of pants from Mountain Hardwear. I picked them because they have a very nice modern, slim fit which I like. They look sharp enough to wear around town, not just out in the woods. What's really great is that they combined that fit with the quality material you would expect from a brand like Mountain Hardwear, so you've got a pant that looks great, but is also comfortbale and durable enough to wear outside hiking, camping, working, etc. If you don't like having the change pants 3 times a day and want pants that can do it all, these are definitely worth a try.

Fit was true to size for me, I'm always a 34 and 34 fit me great. I've been using them for all of the above activities for a few months now and so far durability seems great as well.

These are well made and very comfortable pants. The roll up cuff feature is very secure, as it's double snapped. The articulated knee is great too, as it allows a wide range of motion. The front and back pockets are big enough to be useful. Great customer service from both Backcounty and Mt. Hardwear, too!
