My name is Tim Emmett, I'm an athlete with MHW (22 years). I worked with the designers on this project to help create the ultimate lightweight alpine pack. This is what we came up with, a minimalist, functional, super light pack that I can take on alpine adventures.
Being and alpinist, I am looking up a lot so I like to be able to move my head freely without it hitting my pack lid. We created this pack that it can be used without the lid, but still have pockets that you I can keep essentials with ease of access.
There are two pockets, one on each side and also an additional removable one inside the pack for important things like sat phone, GPS, keys, and can also be used as a stash bag for the pack itself.
The foam back panel can be removed and used to sit on, even if you're caught out for an unexpected bivi! I like that axe's can be attached and taken off easily with gloves, and crampon stash point is accessible on the outside of the pack so that when you encounter steep terrain, you can get to them easily.
I've been using mine more recently for ski touring and also ice climbing.
